@Finley McGill
starts in the 3rd floor corridor; will end up in the library throughout their posts
They kept meeting.

Whether it was through classes or the occasional, annoying brush along a shoulder, Daniel couldn't help but notice the fact that Finley McGill kept invading his space. A part of him found it annoying, but the girl was - what was it. It was just like... she was willing to help him with anything if he asked. He found it quite amusing. He couldn't remember where it started. He figured it was in one of the many classes Slytherins shared with Hufflepuffs. It must have been a gently pushed word of asking her to get something that sparked it. Honestly, Daniel wasn't quite sure what or who had made it stick, but there they were.

He was thinking about the first Society Meeting. How would he do it, and what would they do? Traveling between classes, lost in thought, the Slytherin had no problems juggling multiple things. If he was honest, he was more excited about the Secret Society than he was the Ballet Club or ROAM. He wasn't even sure why he joined that one. He pondered as he walked. The next class was... did he even have a class? Mentally, he recounted what they had in the afternoon. It was the period before dinner; unlike most third, fourth and fifth years, first years had relatively less classes. It gave them more time to run around and cause mayhem, if he was honest.

Either way, it brought him back to the thoughts of how he and a certain Hufflepuff continued to meet. He slowed his steps along the corridor of the third floor, heading up towards the library, when he caught sight of her. "Hey," he called out. They weren't friends - he rarely used her name unless it was obvious she wasn't paying attention towards him. They were heading in opposite directions, and if he saw her, then he was sure she must have seen him. "What are you doing? I could use your help."

Subtle, but even if he wasn't, he doubted she would have caught on enough. Something about the Hufflepuff's need to help would make her want to help, he was sure of it. He shifted his bag, acting as if it was too heavy to carry himself. "I'm heading to the library if you want to join?" He'd word it as a question, but he'd still continue to shift his bag - moving it to the other shoulder. It was such a pain to carry.

early afternoon, third floor corridor -> library

Everywhere you looked, little Finley McGill was there: whether it be in your Herbology class or humming to herself as you strolled down the hallways. She was always there, always listening, and always ready to swoop in for a stranger in need.

However, it was almost fate that she observed the same brown-haired Slytherin boy repeatedly. He, in fact, was there in her Herbology class, and was there in the halls every other day, crossing to or from the Great Hall. She swore this was a sign! She had done many favours for this boy without hesitation, and he had been nothing but peachy to her in return.

As she wandered the corridors this afternoon, she was feeling satisfied with many things: lunch, an attempt at friendship, and especially the new environment in which she was still admiring months after her arrival. Secrets still laid behind walls, and she doubted that she would ever have the courage to explore them. So, with a beaming grin, she clutched her book and paced through the hall, admiring the little things as best as she could.

Finley was distracted, looking at the intricacy of the wall, when that fated boy came across her with a rather loud greeting. She turned her head in reply, smiling with her lips closed to the boy. ”Hey there!” Shifting her textbook to her other hand, she waved at him. Her chin perked up once he mentioned that he had something to do. After scanning herself over and thinking if she had any other plans, she noted that she, in fact, did not have anything to do. ”I just got done with Transfiguration, so I’m not really doing anythin’ right now…” Her slight Irish accent rang through the corridor. ”I can go to the library!”

Finley’s focus on the wall had since been shifted to the boy, who was apparently hunching over because of his bag. Her instinct kicked in like a stab to the gut, and she rushed to his side. ”Oh, do you need some help with that? I only have this one book and could sure as carry that bag if you need it!”

Ugh, girls were dumb.

This girl was dumb, too. He was silent as he watched as she bounced towards him once he had gotten her attention. He struggled to not roll his eyes. What he did was fairly obvious, in his opinion; yeah, he manipulated her into doing things, but he was also fully capable of doing it himself. Hufflepuffs. He had made the decision a while ago that most of them were annoying and there just as pawns. The Slytherin pondered this as Finley continued to talk. Honestly, despite his look of interest, he was far from paying attention.

He did hear key words, though; like she could come to the library with him. He tried to figure out why he needed her there; maybe to fetch books as studied. He could do that himself, too. He rose an eyebrow as she was suddenly close to him - albeit startled at how close she was. “No. My bag isn’t heavy, I don’t need help,” he said simply, twisting his words. If she was adamant about taking his bag, he might reluctantly let it go, but otherwise, he didn’t find it a burden. He adjusted it again, and rose an eyebrow, not offering more to the conversation.

“Do you have homework? It’s probably a good thing to finish before dinner; that way, afterwards, you have more free time,” Daniel suggested. He wasn’t trying to come off arrogant, but he didn’t want her to think he didn’t want to converse, either. Daniel hated small talk, and would actively avoid it, even if it was the only thing to talk about.
