Isabella put on her summer clothes before she headed out the door. She had packed a couple nights ago, but she was still super nervous. She had double and triple checked her luggage that morning. She had packed her chapstick (very important), lotion (also very important), plus her basic hygiene stuff, t-shirts, shorts, sandals, flip-flops, and just normal close-toed shoes. And, last but not least, her badger stuffed animal. Sure, she may have been eleven, but that didn't mean she was too old for stuffed animals.

Isabella pushed her luggage into her car and shut the trunk. "Okay, let's do this." She got in the back of the car in the middle of both of her siblings. The ride wasn't long, and they were there sooner than they expected. Isabella got out and unloaded her luggage for her time at camp. She turned to her family, feeling happy and sad at the same time. "I love you guys. I'll miss you." She set her stuff down and pulled them in for one more hug before pulling away again.

Her whole family hugged her back. Her older sister smiled. "Have fun. I'll miss you, too. Don't let it go to your head." Auriela ruffled Isabella's hair, and Isabella stook her tongue out at her.

Alex, the tiniest member of the family, sniffled. "I'll miss you, Izzy." Isabella pulled him into one more hug. "I'll miss you too, bug, but I'll be back really soon." Alex grinned and Isabella pulled away. Her parents looked at her, and they looked proud. "We're glad you decided to do this. Remember, if you ever want to come home this summer, send us an owl." Cassandra told her daughter, tearing up a little.

"Yes, mum."

"And stay safe and tell us if there is anyone who catches your eye."

"Yes, mum." Isabella blushed.

Her mother nodded, satisfied, and got back in the car.

Her father pulled her into another hug. "See you soon, Isabella."

Isabella smiled. "See you soon, dad."

Isabella pulled away for the last time and watched as her family got back in the car and drove off. She turned toward the campgrounds. Okay, now all she had to do was find her cabin.

Finding her cabin was fairly easy. She looked at the door, suddenly much more nervous than she had been moments ago. She could do this. She pushed the door open and looked inside. There were some people there already, but Isabella decided to put her stuff down first. She found a bed and placed her stuffed animal upon it. "Perfect."

She looked around at all the faces. Whatever happened, this experience was sure to be one she wouldn't forget.

"Bye Sakura! Don't miss me too much, okay?" Emi said, petting Sakura's head playfully. Her sister hugged her so tight, almost all the air was knocked out of her lungs and said, "Bye Emi-onee-chan!"

Emi waved goodbye and triple checked her bag one last time. Lotion? Check. Clothes? Check. Mochi? She thought she could bring her cat. Boba? Check. Boba was Emi's rabbit stuffed animal. Boba was a white bunny with a pink bow on both ears and was very cute. But that day was no ordinary day, it was the day Emi would attend summer camp! It was all she could think of. The thought of going to camp in Britain only excited Emi even more.

In the car, her mother asked Emi, "You packed everything, right? Let's hope that you did not forget anything!" Emi mother said. Emi only replied with a subtle nod. She was to excited to listen.

When she finally reached, she practically jumped out of her seat, hugged her mother, and ran out of the white car. After a while, Emi had found her way to her cabin. She opened the door and saw several people inside already. She set down her bags at a bed and said excitedly, "Hiii guys! I'm Emi! What are your names?"

Alemayehu was tired from the long flight on his broom to get to Hogwarts but it was still his favourite way to travel. With his parents he had made the trip through Africa and parts of Europe for the whole month of July. They had been stopping here and there to rest and also to give his parents the chance to do their work, which involved researching magical items and finding healing herbs and other potions ingredients. Ale was mostly following his mother on her trips to get those herbs and plants because he was also interested in healing magic and potions. Each region or even country had their own quite unique set of plants, while also sharing some with other regions/countries. While they had already traveled most of Africa, they took some other detour through Eastern Europe where Ale has not been yet and thus, there was lots of herbs, plants, mushrooms and other potion ingredients to find and study.

Now it was the first of August and they arrived at the campgrounds of Hogwarts. His father was making a sigh of nostalgia when he saw the castle from below as he went to school here. They said good bye and his parents would continue their traveling work and studies, while Alemayhu was joining the other school's students for a hopefully fun summer camp.

He had read the letter and seen the brochure of this year's camp, which was all about the different departments of the ministry of magic. Ale was not very familiar with the ministry or their departments as it was mainly for Britain or Europe and they had different systems in Africa and across the world (OOC note: at least I think it's this way). But he was eager to learn more about it. Since different cultures were also a particular interest of Alemayheu, he immediately signed up for the cabin of the theme "Department of International Magical Co-operation". However, he hoped that they would also learn a bit about each department but he would see what the activities of this year's camp had to offer.

Packed with his broom and trunk and wearing rather long clothes as it was significantly colder here than in Africa (even though he had already accustomed to this on their one month vacation trip), he entered the cabin. There were already three other students there. All of them were girls and significantly smaller and younger than he was. He estimated them to be first or second years. He felt a bit uneasy but still greeted them in his friendly way.
"Hi everyone! Nice to meet you. I am Alemayehu but you can also just call me Ale."

He did not have a hand free to shake hands and also thought that probably the younger students would maybe not want it anyways. He was then looking for the boys' dorms (or at least an empty one) and put his trunk and broom inside before getting back to the common room and dropped himself into a comfortable looking sofa at the fireplace, ready to socialise with the other students that were arriving.

Now this was a summer camp theme that Harvey could really get into. Not that the others hadn't been fun in their own right, but a faux ministry? A group dedicated to replicate the Department of International Magical Co-operation? Yes, please. Not that the part-goblin had any aspirations of joining the ministry one day. No, his ambition would take him into business and finance like his grandfather, but he did hope that his work would one day take him to magical communities all around the globe. Not to mention that this was also an excellent chance to see which of his peers did have a desire for government work. These were the people that Harvey wanted to rub elbows with. The future leaders of their society and hopefully the cards tucked up his sleeve when he needed them most. Pipe dreams perhaps, but you'll never touch a star if you don't reach for them.

So, Harvey walked through the entrance of their cabin with his chin held high. Short in stature he may be, but that did little to stunt his confidence. “Oh, this is nice. Much better than some of the other accommodations they’ve provided in the past.” He called out to whoever cared to listen and his words were not exaggerated. This was his type of camping! Classy decor, comfortable bedding and furniture, no dirt or hard ground, this was how you camp. “I’m Harvey Barrows.” The boy made himself known as introductions were passed around.

"Here we are!"

Kai was practically bouncing on her feet after she stepped onto the grounds. This was going to be her first summer camp! Or any camp in general... Her mother had taken the liberty of dropping her, as they barely got much time to spend together. The whole journey from home to the camp was them talking about literally everything that came in mind.

It had taken Kai a lot of convincing to get her parents to allow her to go to the summer camp. She was going away for Hogwarts in less than a month anyway.

"Phir baad me ghar aane ke liye mat rona." "Don't later regret coming here" Her mom said with a teasing and knowing smile on her face.

"Main kyu roungi? Why would I regret coming here? I'll learn so many new things here! I'll learn about different countries, their cultures, I'll get to do fun activities, meet new people, which will not and should not go bad this time."

She just had to not talk about Muggles and her unnecessary knowledge of Muggle technology.

"Alright, alright. Stay safe, okay?" Her mom said, ruffling her hair.

"I will"

With that Yaksha mounted the broom and flew to Hogsmeade. She did say that she was going to apparate out of there after buying something. Kai could tell she was tired of flying for so long.

Kai made her way to the cabin she was assigned to. She stood outside the cabin to read the list of names, as if she even knew anyone. She made her way in and placed her stuff on a chair, as she didn't know which beds had been taken or not. She was hoping to get the one near the wall in one of the three-bedded bedrooms.

"Uhm, Hi!... I'm Kai Hepner, and I'll be starting my first year at Hogwarts from next month." She introduced herself as the others did.

Riley grinned. She saw a girl walking in. She had long brown curly hair and honey eyes that shined in the sunlight. She set her bag down and Riley heard her mumble something when another girl came walking in. She had darker hair looked super pretty. She was smiling and had a sort of bubbly aura. She sat down and began to say, "Hiii guys! I'm Emi! What are your names?", just as another boy walked in.

Riley was about to respond when the boy said "Hi everyone! Nice to meet you. I am Alemayehu but you can also just call me Ale.", Riley nodded. Ale had dark hair and a nice smile. He sat next to an empty bed, which was soon taken up by another boy who arrived right behind him, saying “I’m Harvey Barrows.”

Riley started to think if she didn't speak now she never would. But looks like she would have to wait a bit longer, because another girl walked in. She had short hair that looked really neat and nice. She looked slightly tired, but excited. "Uhm, Hi!... I'm Kai Hepner, and I'll be starting my first year at Hogwarts from next month." She finished up as the seemingly last girl (but you never know..) walked in.

Riley thought the second girl was bubbly, but this new girl beat her in the bubbly department on all levels. She practically ran in and tackled Emi. She looked nice, and took the bed near Riley.

"Hi everyone my name is Olivia Belle Sato. Half Japensese half Swiss. I got to Mathou. It's in japan. Sorry I'm a bit late. My flight was delayed", she paused with a confident nature, " It's a nice cabin no?" Riley nodded. Then she perked up. Maybe it was just her, but it seemed that everyone was looking at her to talk next. Good thing she wasn't shy.

"Hi everyone!! I'm Riley Bluescar. I attend Hogwarts, I'm in house Ravenclaw.", she passed for a second to fix her oddly shiny hair "Uhm, I'm starting my second year next term. And, yeah, this is a pretty cool cabin!" She figured to wait until asking everyone if they wanted to do an icebreaker in case any more campers were coming.

Despite having written a letter to her parents practically begging them to let her come to summer camp, Lorelei was already regretting her decision. She wasn’t ready to leave home again so soon and felt her summer holiday had been cut far too short. It certainly didn’t help her attitude that her mother had dropped her off the furthest possible distance from her cabin, so she’d had to lug her bags for quite the disgruntled trek.

Lorelei burst in through the cabin door with a truly impressive amount of ungainliness. With one hand carrying a large bag and the other stopping an even larger bag from slipping off her shoulder, it was a mystery how she’d even managed to open the door. Blowing a strand of hair out of her eyes (she’d braided it precisely so this wouldn’t happen) she was able to see the scene set in front of her.

Most of the people in the cabin were unfamiliar to her. Some she’d seen in various classes at Hogwarts, others she figured went to different wizarding schools altogether. It appeared she’d arrived in the middle of introductions and tried to memorize the names and faces of each of the new people.

She glanced around quickly, noticing that most of the others had already started or finished unpacking their belongings into the trunks. She began to do the same but kept an ear open to the conversation in the common room. As she worked, moving her belongings from one case to another, she took note of everything she’d forgotten to pack. She had most of the clothes she’d wanted to bring, her pointe shoes, and her tarot cards. She had her toothbrush, but not toothpaste to go along with it. She also had one-and-a-half pairs of shoes. Literally how did I manage that?! she asked herself incredulously, searching the trunk and both of her bags a second time before accepting that her only actual pair of shoes were the ones on her feet.

With that disappointing showing from past-Lorelei reckoned with, she stood up and moved back towards the common room, leaning against the doorway and watching the other students. After one of the people she thought she recognized from Hogwarts, Riley, spoke, Lorelei took the break in conversation to introduce herself.

“Hey, everybody.” She paused, pushing herself up and off of the door frame, walking into the common room, and plopping down onto one of the sofas. “I’m Lorelei, I’m going into my second year at Hogwarts.”
