Learning Purist Pureblood Ways
Place: Hogwarts Campgrounds
Date: Saturday, August 8, 2026
Time: Afternoon
A blond kid who was slightly shorter than average for his age wandered around camp, watching other kids do things and thinking about how he wished Liron was there. He looked up to Liron like an older brother and it was weird to be without him, especially after he had just lost his mother and he knew Liron must have needed comfort. Not to mention he often sought comfort from Liron's presence, too, before his parents had moved their family to London to prepare for his first school year at Hogwarts.
Though Strike was usually constantly watched by one or both parents at home to make sure he was doing what he was supposed to, it was odd for him to be without at least one of them watching him and evaluating his behavior and actions. He still couldn't quite figure out if he liked his newfound freedom or not. But he was starting to miss even his parents themselves. They may have been strict, but they were some of the only people familiar to him in London, especially while Liron was back in Greece with his own family. He hoped desperately that Liron would return to Hogwarts and attend the school with him once the school year started up, but he didn't know for certain that would happen, so he tried not to get his hopes up. In the meantime, he told himself, he would just have to learn to get to know other people to keep his loneliness at bay.
There were so many kids, though. Who would his parents have been alright with him making friends with and who would they not have been alright with? Strike had thought for the longest time that Liron had been alright to make friends with since his parents had been working with at least one of Liron's parents for a while. But then when Liron's mother had died, they had said she was a blood traitor and implied that term had had something to do with her death.
Unfortunately, Strike had no idea what the term 'blood traitor' meant, so he didn't know who might have been one or turned into one or not. But...perhaps he could find someone there at camp who could tell him. He noticed a girl nearby and approached her cautiously in his simple, light-colored clothing that was notably old-fashioned in the pureblood style.
"Um...hello," he greeted, remembering to try to smile. "Do you know...what a 'blood traitor' is...?"
