Although Evander Harvey Beauchamp had been at Hogwarts for barely a month, he had come to view the school not as merely a place of education, but a place of mystery and wonder. Everywhere one looked, history seemed to linger, from the conversations of the portraits hanging on the walls, to the legends and stories which pervaded every corner of the castle itself. The classes themselves were fascinating, but more alluring still was the rich background information that went with them: the myths behind the spells, the legends behind the traditions, and the endless similarities between the history of magic and Greek mythology. This was a fascination that predated the Hogwarts letter, something Evander wanted to share with others.
And so on an uneventful evening, with sunlight streaming in through the dormitory windows, Evander sat down at his desk, his parchment laid out along with a bottle of ink and a quill. He created the notice in such a way that it was not like any other ordinary notice. The phrase that was written on top of the notice read, "A Summons from Olympus" with the letters that were inspired by those carved elegantly on the Greek temples. An elaborate meander pattern was created by him along the edges of the notice, and olive branches delicately adorned the corners. On one side was depicted the figure of Athena in her armor with a spear, and on the opposite side were the ruins of the marble columns, as if they appeared through the veil of history. Under the title was written only an invitation, which was more of a hint than an announcement, telling about restless gods, lost myths, honorable searchers, and the upcoming meeting whose time and place would only be known once the Oracle made his predictions.
Evander nodded contentedly. That was exactly what he wanted: mysterious enough to capture imagination, elegant enough to draw wandering eyes, and completely fitting his vision of Olympus Ascendancy. Holding the completed piece of parchment in his hands, he left the common room and proceeded along the paths of Hogwarts Castle. Young people passed by in the corridors between classes, talking to each other and making noise in the process. Evander consciously chose the second floor corridor, which was always crowded by the students of nearly every house. It was not possible to walk by without noticing all these posters and messages plastered on the walls. Looking for a suitable time to do it, he came forward, fixed the parchment in place on the board and attached it there with a firm press of his hand. The parchment went nicely among other pieces of paper on the wall, despite the fact that it was completely unlike them. There were no ads for some club or call for participation in the game of Quidditch, but an ancient decree taken out of some temple.
For a couple of seconds, Evander stayed standing in place, looking at the two passing students who slowed down their steps, drawn by the attention to the strange poster. This was all that was required. Without revealing himself and without waiting for their response, Evander fixed the strap on his satchel and slipped away from the crowd of students. He had completed his task. The summons had been made and if the gods were willing, the chosen would soon be seeking out the prophecy.
