The nose piercing was definitely a bad idea. One hundred percent a bad idea. But you wanna know what's worse? Doing it yourself at four in the morning with a ferret scrambling around like the nocturnal demon he is.
You have got to be kidding me...
Jay didn't have a lot of help in doing this apart from her mirror and a small table light that really was just a candle. Jay went around to every corner, nook and cranny of her room to try and find every candle she could to light up her room so that she could see better. Jay examined her nose and found the right spot based on a few tests she had done on fake noses she had cut out of a mattress over the past few weeks.
After the incident with the fire she hadn't been allowed out of the house, she was grounded apparently, not that being grounded had ever stopped her from leaving the house even if she had nowhere to go. The last week and a half she had been wandering around the streets and admiring everything around her but eventually she had lost the motivation to go any further and had just stayed at home.
It was over quickly and then Jay put the ring in and it was all over. With a sigh she fell backwards onto the floor and sat there for a goof five minutes, thinking about her life decisions and what Elliot would say about the thin, silver ring.
What on Gaia's green earth was I thinking? Stupid, stupid, stupid!
She thought angrily as the nearing prospect of breakfast arrived in her mind. Jay nearly choked. If she went out there like this, she would never be allowed to leave the house. Ever again.
Just remember what Mikaela told you, make his life hell
In translation to Jay that just meant she needed to piss Elliot off and have fun doing it, and besides, she would be leaving to go back to London next week so that was a plus. Jay hoped she had caused enough trouble so that he didn't want to have her back but she really doubted that.
The prospect of going back home was very uplifting though, enough for Jay to forget about her state for a few minutes and just be in her soul until reality came crashing in and destroyed her bliss. The realization that had to face Elliot in three hours loomed over her like a large shadow monster that refused to disappear when light hit it, her emotions just seemed to suck all the small happiness she had and turn it into nothing, as if it had just disappeared.
Standing up, Jay reached for her desk and pulled out a paint brush and a pallet of blue paints, rolling under her desk and starting to paint on the wood, the blue paint streaking across the brown wood creating ocean waves and a stormy sky and after about an hour, Jay felt at peace again. Ready to talk to Elliot.
Rather to... yell at him.
The sun had risen and it was a very nice day compared to what was about to go down at the table. Jay could already imagine that Elliot could sense her trouble causing ass walking up the stairs to the table.
When she sat down the reaction was immediate. Madoka let out a loud half shriek half laugh at the sight of her stepsister, as if she was surprised and found it funny, her mother on the other hand seemed very unamused, glaring at Jay as she sat down. Jay heard the exhale that announced Elliot's disapproval of the situation too.
"Jay, what did you do?" He asked slowly and coldly, seemingly trying to keep his head as his daughter shrugged as she helped herself to food "I just woke up and made a decision, nothing else" she spoke as the table was silent for while until Elliot spoke again "That's not just a decision you make, Jay"
Jay rolled her eyes "well, it is for me, might not-" Elliot cut her off by standing up sharply and staring down at Jay "No, you need to get over your petty feud with me, I haven't done anything" Getting annoyed, Jay stood up too and faced him with a sharp glare.
"Excuse me?" she hissed, her hands on her hips as she stared him down.
"Get over it" Elliot muttered
"I AM over it"
"I'm over you BEING over it"
The two of them glared at the other until Jay rolled her eyes "You, Elliot, are acting like a child, have a better sense of maturity next time we argue" With that she sat back down and continued to eat her food, ignoring the scathing looks from Elliot and Noriko.
After a minute of tense silence, where Madoka seemed to be trying to hold in her laugh, Elliot scoffed and turned away from the table, probably to go to his office or to try and calm down. Jay doubted it was the latter as he was fuming, stomping away quite loudly. As soon as he was out of earshot, Madoka let out the laugh she had been holding all that time and Jay jumped slightly. It wasn't the tinkling princess laugh she expected, it was wild, loud and very uncharacteristic of the young girl.
Noriko glared at her daughter, who eventually stopped giggling but she was still smiling like she found the whole situation very amusing and right then and there, Jay had an immediate respect for Madoka, who she had just viewed as shy and silent for a while.
Would it be too far for me to say I was a bad influence on her?
Jay thought, internally grinning to herself as she stood up and walked back towards her room, thinking about how Noriko would react to Madoka becoming like Jay, her perfect little daughter becoming someone as disobedient and rude as Jay?
Guess we'll just have to find out
