Book Badger

Trixie. Loved. Books.
It was the first thing she could remember, the gentle care one must take with ancient pages. Even before she was sent to Hogwarts, books were a special type of magic to her. She would sit lost for hours and hours just reading.

She didn't go to school, not..what do they call it in the wizarding world? Right Muggle school. She helped her mums at their bookstore, huddled in a corner with their cat, reading books far beyond her age.

She had read every book she could get her hands on about the wizarding world, dragons, hippogriffs, augrys, dories, crups, kneazles. Just off the top of her head. She was quite pleased when she asked the librarian to lead her to the books about magical creatures and she just gave her 4 books! She had already read all the books for her classes and now she had more!

She had been nervous to talk to people in her dorm, since they all looked a little beaten down but today is the day she would make some friends. At least one.

Trixie strolled to the dragon section and smiled as she browsed over the titles, feeling like they were calling too her...after 20 minutes she has countless books in her lap as she sat down at a table and opened them carefully.

She rested her knees against her chest, her sweater twisting around her stomach. Trixie toyed with the end of her hair, ignoring the purple stains on her right fingertips and moving the pages with her left.

Trixie was drawn into her own world amongst the pages, drowning out the shuffles of shoes and the turning of pages. Her determination to make friends temporarily replaced by her driving need to understand more about the creatures that she shared this new world with.
