The library was fairly quiet today, though Evgenia couldn't really see why that would be. At this hour, there should be students everywhere, but maybe they had all flocked to the study room. Evgenia herself often switched between the two rooms, her preferences changing depending on factors such as how much homework she had or what kind of mood she was in. Sometimes, one was simply too crowded so she fled for the other. As it was, tonight was the perfect study environment for the young Hufflepuff. The few other students in the library this evening were quiet and spread far apart. She liked the library this way - nothing to distract her or irritate her.
She had been needing a lot of reference books for some of her assignments this week, though. That was annoying. It wasn't that Evgenia minded research; she just . . . wasn't always in the mood to be doing it. It was too time-consuming. The present flying assignment required research on brooms (of course the class about transportation by broom required learning SO. MUCH. BROOM. HISTORY.), so up the girl stood to fetch herself a book.
She scoured the shelves, eyes narrowing on each title in turn before promptly sliding to the next one. Where were the books about brooms and broommakers and whatnot? Evgenia's eyes alighted on another shelf over, and she began a beeline for it, several broom-related titles already catching her eye.

─────Lucian had decided to go to the library for his assignment on a subject that he was most scared of. He was afraid of heights. He didn't want to do well in Flying but he had it as a subject so he was in the library looking for materials to read up on so he could do his assignment and turn it in at the correct time so he isn't late. He had his notebook and quill with him to make notes with the book that he wanted. He walked into the library and glanced around. Flying assignment had so much about broom history and he didn't know anything about it which is why the young boy was here.

He made his way to the section of the library where there were books on Broom history. He wanted to find something that would help the boy more with his assignment. He would not only refer one but many books to make his assignment stand out from others. He was ready to do anything for it. He grabbed a book which he thought would be useful for him. He sat down on the table near by and started writing notes for his homework when he noticed a girl about his age in the Broom History section. He left his quill and notebook and walked towards her.

"You won't find it there." He said. "Try the shelf before this one. There are some books on Broom History. Though I have the best one. You snooze you lose." He said. He went back to his notes writing after taunting the girl a little.

Taken aback, Evgenia turned toward the voice she had heard blatantly taunting her. There sat a Gryffindor boy, probably a first-year too. Not that she needed the absolute best book in the school - if it was even the best like this random idiot claimed it was - but this was quite a rude way to go about "helping". "And who shoved a haughty pepper up your nose?" she scoffed at him. "It is entirely possible to give assistance without being a jerk, in case you didn't know. Хам." She added the Russian under her breath, essentially calling the boy a jerk. Why did he even have to speak to her in the first place? Was he one of those boorish "purebloods" that she had heard of? Not that Evgenia had actually interacted with one so far (that she knew of), but she vaguely knee that some of them were very, very snobby. "Mind your own business if you have nothing nice to say. You are acting quite unbecomingly."
She turned back to the shelves, tracing several titles with her fingers as she read them. No, no, no. No, I don't think I want that one. There were plenty of options, though. I guess wizard schools have a lot of books of their own. The way Mama had acted, one would think this Hogwarts place had absolutely no means for a decent education.
