Layal is a bit small for her age, standing at 4'5. She has dark, curly hair that she always ties with ribbons. Her olive green eyes are the first thing people notice about her, and her favorite thing about how she looks. Her least favorite however (understatement of the century), is the burn marks running all the way from her right arm to the bottom of her jawline. You'll always see her wearing long sleeved, high necked shirts or even scarfs, so she can avoid the pitying looks of strangers. One other unusual wardrobe choice is a tattered old baseball cap she wears no matter the weather. Don't ask.

. Layal has an overall quiet and reserved disposition. She's not shy though - in fact, she can argue about topics she's passionate about for hours - but 'The Accident' as her aunt calls it made her believe that getting close to people will only make it hurt more when -not if- they leave.
Her favourite mode of communication is sarcasm, which she often uses to deflect from serious topics.
She loves getting lost in stories, whether they be books, movies or shows, she just likes to be someone else for as long as she could.
Despite her ' I don't need anyone.' ' I don't care ' attitude, she loves hugs. Long warm hugs. And she often feels lonely. She'll never admit it, though.
She's jumpy, and freezes anytime she hears a scream, smells smoke, or even hears sirens.

Pre-Hogwarts Biography:

.Until she was 9, she lived in Lebanon with her parents and an older brother whom she idolized, and followed around like a lost puppy. Then one day, tragedy striked. In the middle of the night, an electric fuse blew, and there was a house fire. she was the only survivor thanks to a neighbor who dragged her out at the last minute. The only stuff she had left now were physical scars, and a suffocating survivors guilt.
She was then taken in by her estranged maternal aunt who lived in London. Her aunt was an extremely superstitious woman who she only saw once every couple of years. Add to that that she kept trying to get her to ' just move on, that's what they'd want ' and why Layal spent all her days locked up in her room becomes very clear

First Instance of Magic:

.When she was 10, her aunt wanted to throw her brother's baseball cap away (the only physical thing she managed to save from the fire), ' to cleanse the house, and hopefully your spirit of old ghosts ' . That's when Layal finally snapped. Her aunt was thrown across the room, and the cap flew directly to Layal's hand
