Pessimistic Painting
Noah feels the crisp winter air flow through his curly blonde hair as he takes a look at his latest painting. He is trying to capture the sunlight on the lake just right. In the afternoon setting sun, the way that the last reflecting rays of the golden english sun reflect off of the pristine calm lake needs to be just right. Too much yellow, and it would wreck the illusion of the setting sun. Too much red, then he would have a lake of blood in front of him.
Looking at it from a distance, he decides that a touch of yellow along with a tad bit of red would make the perfect shade. Reaching inside his paint cup, he pulls out a medium sized plaited brush, and dips one side onto the soft goldenrod shade one one side of his palate, and brushes the other side in the dark crimson shade. Then, carefully blending the two colors with a couple light strokes, he begins to add strokes of mellow orange/yellow to the canvas. The basic landscape has already been sketched out and filled in, but is lacking much detail. After completing the last water stroke, he leans back and smiles, pleased at how it turned out. With the hardest part over, Noah cleans his brush off and dips into a pink/purple to begin the clouds with.

Pessimistic Painting
Vales walked by the Great Lake, a few books tucked underneath her arm. It was her favorite place to read, and Vales felt like she needed some time to just.. relax. It was beautiful by the lake, and Vales couldn't resist letting out the tiniest sigh. Vales's truly didn't know why most people didn't spend much time here.
Walking towards her favorite reading spot, Vales noticed that another boy, around her own age was there, doing something that looked like painting. Vales wasn't an artist, but she, like most other people, could appreciate a nice picture. The boy was a Ravenclaw, like herself, and Vales found herself getting curious. She didn't have many friends at Hogwarts, due to her rather shy nature, and this boy seemed like a good person to start a conversation with.
"Hello!" she called nervously, hoping that she wasn't interrupting him. That would be way to awkward. It was a tad windy by the lake, and Vales subconsciously pulled her books a little closer to her body, as if to warm her side. She gave a boy a gentle smile as she resisted the urge to run away. Social situations were never quite the ravenclaws style

Pessimistic Painting
Noah was just putting the last few touches in the sky. When he lifts his brush after making the final stroke of the magenta clouds, he sets his brush down and takes a final look. He frowns slightly, looking at the way the clouds reflect off the water. Its not his best piece in his opinion. There is too much overlapping and not full enough coverage, but he let out a deep sigh and picked up his brush again and started on the outline of the castle.
Just as he was making the first few strokes, he hears a voice behind him. "Hello!".
He swerved around, and saw a fellow ravenclaw standing behind him. He's seen her a couple times before, but has never gotten her name. She seemed rather quiet, and Noah never liked starting conversations, so the circumstances had never been been ideal for them to converse. He stood up and brushed his slacks off the get stray grass off of him. He then, wiped his paint-stained hands on his pants, and waves back.
"Hello! I'm not in your spot am I?" He asked, feeling a flush creep up his neck. One of his worst fears is always making things inconvenient. He would be mortified if he had been taking up her preferred spot for so long. Chivalry is one thing he treasures, and hopefully will win someones heart with it, so he tries to practice it as much as possible.

Pessimistic Painting
Vales snuck a peek at the boy's painting, looking at all the colors, mixed together and beautifully contrasting with the rest of the painting. It made Vales want to start painting, drawing amazingly, exactly like the boy.
But honestly, she had no time to. Most of her day was spent either in lessons, studying, reading or dancing, and she simply could not fit another hobby in. But she could definitely admire this boy's skills and wish she had the same ones.
Vales let out a deep breath when he answered, seemingly not annoyed that she had interrupted his painting time. It would be dreadfully awkward if he was annoyed!
"Oh no! That's not my spot! I just wanted to let you know that your painting is amazing! You're truly talented." she said kindly. She pointed at the brown, wooden easel sitting on the grass as she talked, before continuing softly as if she was nervous to even open her mouth..
"My name is Vales! I'm a Ravenclaw, if you haven't noticed."
She pointed at her robes, the obvious Ravenclaw crest sewn into them. She didn't really mind the robes, they were not what she would wear if she had a choice, but they weren't the worst article of clothing in her closet.
