Pets are non-player characters (NPCs) that your character controls in roleplay. While your character may have family pets at home without any approval, any pet that accompanies them to Hogwarts must be approved through the Pet System.

You can view approved pets on a player's profile.

How Do I Get a Pet?

Obtaining a pet is simple and only requires a few steps.

1. Create a new roleplay thread tagged with the tag [Pet].
2. Write at least 400 words roleplaying how your character obtained their pet.
   
   You are welcome to be creative. Some common ideas include:
   
   
   -Purchasing the pet from the Magical Menagerie.
   -Receiving it as a birthday or Christmas gift.
   -Adopting a stray.
   -Finding an injured animal and nursing it back to health.
   -Receiving a family pet to bring with you to Hogwarts.
   
   The Magical Menagerie is the most common choice, but it is by no means the only option.
   
   Please avoid roleplaying abuse, neglect, or cruelty toward animals. Such content exceeds our site rating and will not be approved.
3. Include your total word count at the end of the roleplay.
4. Post the following application in the Pet Application Thread:

5. Have enough Galleons to purchase your chosen pet. Staff will deduct the cost manually when your application is approved.

Pet applications are reviewed by administrators.

If your application has been waiting longer than two weeks, please contact a Head of House or the Headmaster.
