Checklist for New Players Post Validation
Once you have been validated, you should be re-routed to the sorting ceremony. If you were not routed to the sorting ceremony, we ask that you send a private message (owl) to a member on staff. Members of our staff team can be found on the Staff List and they can evaluate your account.
Upon sorting, you will be placed in one of 4 houses. This sorting is final, even if you expected/desired a different result.
This checklist reviews the first areas you should check-out as a new member.
The Checklist
☐ Consider introducing yourself in your house out of character area.
☐ Consider signing up for a mentor in the Mentorship Program.
☐ Start registering your character with Index.
Important: if you intend to be a special race, this needs to be done within your first 30 days on site.
☐ Consider looking for a roleplay partner in the RPGs Partner Requests thread and IC/OOC Thread Sharing.
☐ Familiarize yourself with the Site Rules which reviews not just site rules but also various site systems.
☐ Consider getting to know members out of character by looking into the At the Counter chat, Quill Pals and the Games Room.
☐ Consider joining our Discord Community.
☐ Once you have been registered to Index (you will know this because your name can be found in the Official Index), consider applying to be a part of a Sport Team.
☐ Once you have been on the site for at least 10 days and you have at least 20 on-site posts outside of the games room, the Class & Homework System will become available to you. This is a great way to earn house points, potions and spells for your character.
☐ Keep an eye on Errands, a task or an activity set-up by a Professor Prefect in the Errands forum. This is a great way to earn house points, galleons and sometimes even items, potions or spells.
There is something about ambition, how it not only propels you but also defines you.
