The Alptraum-Leveret home marries the stark charm of contemporary Victorian design with the intricacies of baroque gothic. Open- but not grandiose- in composition, and eclectic in decor; the space offers reprieve from the complexities of wizarding life, emphasizing sanctuary over conventionality. Various plants surround and scale the exterior of the home, but do not consume it. On the front door, a small gargoyle door knocker waits to greet those invited to stop by.

On the inside, dark metal- bent into organic shapes- soften over rich hardwood. Twinkling trinkets peek out of corners and hang in the crook of archways, casting fantastical shadows on the geometric stone tiles and polished floorboards separating rooms. Treasures from travel- including the occasional strange, blurry photograph- find companionship alongside macabre knickknacks on shelves. During the day, walls are illuminated with dreamy patterns, when the sun is at its highest point in the sky and can shine through the labyrinthine channels on the stained glass windows spread throughout the home. At night, shadows come alive through ornate lampshades, dancing between soldered glass and colored fabric. It is a clean, well-kept home, but articles of the owner's lives are frequently left out, marking it as a lived-in and well-loved space.

The home, like its owners, is constantly in motion; it moves with them, accommodating their active lifestyles. Changes in their lives are seen through its blueprint: originally Barrow's home, it reflects the world of a man who has opened himself to a companion, she who has grown over his house like ivy; and, eventually, a couple preparing for their first baby. When Xailah moved in with Barrow, a greenhouse was one of the first changes made to the home. It is attached to a small sunroom, and houses a variety of carnivorous plants of both the magical and mundane variety, as well as several poisonous flora. A healthy self-sustaining ecosystem has been established within the greenhouse, with the inclusion of many death's-head hawkmoths, and a small apiary.

The newest addition to the house is a small nursery, where the pair intend to nurture their little one. It is largely a work in progress- considering it is a product of surprise- but the room's purpose is clear, given the presence of items one would typically find in an infant's room. Peering in, stuffed toys depicting different magical creatures stare back, tiny clothes are folded neatly on furniture, and a handmade blanket drapes over a crib made of dark wood. There is still a long time to go before the room obtains an occupant, yet the space already brims with love and tangible warmth; its architects await that day with excitement.

Before me, you rightly tremble. But, fear is not what you owe me. You owe me awe....
