Physical Appearance + Personality

Millard has curly black hair that he is constantly caring for. Whoever said caring for hair was easy l i e d. He has dark, near black eyes that he often complains are too dark (for literally no reason, Millard gets dramatic sometimes). He's got slightly tanned skin and freckles here and there. He's a tad tall for his age, standing at 4 foot 11 (about 149 cm). Don't let his height fool you, however. Millard's mother says he's the clumiest person in all of Scotland (a bit of a stretch, but you get the idea). He's very scatterbrained, forgive him if he forgets what he's talking about mid sentence. It happens sometimes. He's also hyper , but loyal and unfortunately very ambitious. Millard also has a very low tolerance for people asking simple or "dumb" questions and people who act stupid. He's always had a bit of temper too, he's sorry if he snaps at you. Millard also has the near uncanny ability to constantly learn maps of places. Ever lost in Hogwarts? You should go to him, Millard had the layout engraved in his mind by lights out on the first day.


Millard's Most Embarassing Moment


Millard has done plenty of embarassing things in his life. Called a teacher "mom", answered a question that wasn't for him, gotten a Howler in his third week of school, spaced out mid conversation with some friends, stuttered while talking to a crush in the 4th grade are just a few. But the most embarassing so far? He wrote a letter to someone, added an extra letter and had the cross it out. The embarassing bit? The letter was to the Headmaster. Millard still hasn't fully recovered.



First Instance of Magic

It was the beginning of March 2019 on the weekend. Millard had been running around in the backyard with his best friend of the time, Emma Stilts. A girl a year older than him with soft blonde hair and blueberry blue-gray eyes. Emma had a sleep over with Millard and the pair were in the backyard Emma's house in the afternoon, given permisson by Millard's mother and Emma's father to play free reign for a while before Millard had to leave. Caught in their game of tag, Emma, the braver of the two, ran into the thin forest behind her house. Millard dashed after, wind slapping his freckled face. A game of tag turned into rolling around on the forest floor and running between trees. Then, Emma found a heavily injured bird. Drawn by her scream, Millard peaked over her shoulder and squeaked too (blood had made him squeamish at that age). The pair began panicking (just imagine a pair of 6 and 7 year olds who had never been exposed to violence and no serious blood aside from scrapped knees finding a bloody, dying bird in the forest). Millard, felt a strange bubbling sensation in his chest, like someone had tied the top of a pot down and the insides were bubbling over. He didn't even know what he did, one minute the bird was barely breathing and the next it was flying in circles, perfectly fine. Millard and Emma had screamed in sync (to this day, Millard swears his voice has never gone so high since). Emma had shouted at the top at his lungs that Millard was a freak with as much fear as her young 7 year old self could manage and ran off. Millard had been too stunned and frigtened to run after her and just sat there. He doesn't remember how his mother found him in the forest. She said she found him sobbing on the ground. Millard and Emma made up after. But they could never seem to get as close again.



Life Before Hogwarts


Millard lived his life before Hogwarts perfectly normal for the most part. He was raised on English, Scottish Gaelic, and French. He loves animals and used to dream of being an animal vet. He hardly knew his father as the man left when Millard was just 4. Millard's father was a Muggle Scottish man who married his mother and she took his last name. After he left, Millard's mother took back her maiden name (Bennington) and moved the two of them from Birmingham, England to Glasgow, where they lived with Millard's grandmother briefly before Millard's mother quickly found them a place. Millard's mother is a second generation French immigrant to England estranged from her parents, her English name is Elaine Bennington. She's a business woman and her and Millard have a strong, loving bond. His friends used to joke if you looked up ,,mama's boy" in the dictionary, Millard's name would be there. Speaking of friends, Millard's always had issues with them due to his temper and ,,quirks". As kids saw Millard as weird, sometimes. Ms. Bennington remains open to allowing Millard to change his last name from his father's last name (MacLeod) to her maiden name.
