Rosy had first stepped into Diagon Alley around half an hour ago. She had come with her parents to buy everything she would need for her first year at Hogwarts, and she still couldn't believe magic was actually real.

Only a few weeks ago, witches and wizards had belonged in fairy tales and fantasy novels. Now, she was walking through a hidden street full of enchanted shops, owls, broomsticks, and people carrying wands as though it were perfectly ordinary.

The three of them had already visited Gringotts to collect the money they would need. Rosy had spent almost the entire visit staring at the goblins, completely fascinated by their appearance and even their existence itself!

After getting their Galleons, Rosy had begged until her parents finally allowed her to carry the small money pouch. They reminded her several times not to lose it, though she insisted she would be extra careful.

Now, she stood outside Ollivanders, the famous wand shop she had heard so much about. Her heart pounded with excitement as she reached for the handle on the door.

This was the moment she had imagined ever since she had read that acceptance letter. In just a few minutes, she would have a wand of her very own.

Rosy pushed open the door, the little bell above it chimed. A second later, it rang again as her parents followed inside, smiling after watching her rush ahead.

The shop was quiet, with tall shelves packed tightly with long, narrow wand boxes. Dust floated through the air, making the place feel ancient and mysterious.

"Good afternoon," an elderly man said from behind the counter. His bright, pale eyes studied Rosy with a gentle smile that made her feel both excited and nervous.

"First wand?" he asked simply, already reaching for one of the shelves. Rosy nodded eagerly, unable to hide the grin of excitement on her face.

Mr. Ollivander returned carrying a dusty box and carefully lifted out the wand inside. "Let's begin with this. Twenty-six centimetres, rowan wood, dragon heartstring. Quite springy."

Rosy wrapped her fingers around the wand and gave it a hopeful wave. Nothing happened, and Mr. Ollivander calmly took it back without looking surprised.

"No," he murmured thoughtfully. "I don't think this one is meant for you." He disappeared once more before returning with another narrow box.

"This should be more interesting. Twenty-eight point two centimetres, mayhaw wood, unicorn hair. Quite supple."

The instant Rosy touched the wand, warmth spread through her hand and up her arm. It felt light, comfortable, and strangely familiar, as if it had been waiting for her all along.

Before she could even flick it properly, soft golden sparks burst from the tip and drifted through the shop. A gentle breeze rustled the nearby shelves, making Rosy's eyes grow wide with amazement.

She laughed in delight and carefully gave the wand a small swish through the air. More shimmering sparks appeared around her before slowly disappearing into thin air.

Mr. Ollivander smiled knowingly as he watched the display. "Yes," he said quietly. "The wand has chosen you, Miss Parker."

Rosy could hardly stop smiling as she handed the wand back to him. He placed it neatly inside its box before putting it on the counter.

"That will be two Galleons," he said pleasantly. Rosy untied the little money pouch from her belt and carefully pulled out two big gold coin.

Mr. Ollivander accepted the payment before handing the boxed wand back to her. "Take good care of it," he said. "I believe the two of you will accomplish remarkable things together."

"I will," Rosy promised sincerely as she hugged the box close to her chest. "Thank you very much."

"You're most welcome," Mr. Ollivander replied with a small nod. "Have a wonderful day."

"You too," Rosy answered brightly before following her parents back outside. The sounds of Diagon Alley seemed even more magical now that she had her own wand.

Her mother smiled at Rosy's excitement but quickly reminded her that a wand was not a toy. Rosy nodded, promising she would take the very best care of it.

Her parents still looked slightly unconvinced, though they couldn't help smiling at how happy she was. Rosy glanced down at the Ollivanders box tucked safely beneath her arm.

"So..." she said hopefully, looking between her mother and father. "Can we get some food now? All this magic has made me really hungry."
