Welcome Home My Little Friend  Pet
The first year of school was over, and Lenora had, though with difficulty, adjusted to it. She had noticed that some of her friends had pets. When she sent of an owl to her family, they initially refused, but during the summer holidays, Lenora finally convinced them about having a pet.

Lenora didn't know what to think of the magical zoo shop, but she never imagined it would be like this. It was crowded. Different animal sounds were coming from inside the cages. She was already beginning to feel uncomfortable.

"Lenora, maybe this isn't a good idea. I know you want to get a pet, but perhaps it would be better for everyone if we waited a little longer."

"Come on Cassandra, if we left it up to you, Lenora wouldn't be able to leave the house until she was 40."

"I am Nora's mother, and I am speaking for her own good."

Hearing her mother's raised voice, Lenora understood where this conversation was heading and, to avoid being caught in the middle of the argument, began walking into the shop. Lenora put on her headphones to relax. She loved her family; they didn't fight much, but her parents were very divided when it came to her.

As she was thinking these things, Lenora let out a small scream when her leg hit one of the cages. Lenora tried to maintain her balance, but something wrapped around her legs, causing her to lose her balance and fall to the other side. 'My legs are probably all red,' she thought as she looked at the animal.

A fluffy, green-eyed cat was looking at Lenora curiously. Thinking it must have just recovered from the caffeine it'd been consuming, the cat came closer to Lenora's head and rubbed against her white hair.

Lenora put aside the awkwardness of the situation, took off her headphones, and stroked the cat's head. "You have very soft fur."

"I think you've made a new friend. What name would you like to give this little princess?"

When the elderly woman, whom she assumed was the shop owner, arrived, Lenora stood up and carefully picked up the cat. The cat was now comfortable in the girl's lap and was purring.

"I think the name Pixie would be very suitable." The cat meowed, indicating it liked the name. "You're coming home with me." Lenora saw her family waiting for her at the cash.
