Samuel J. 'Fire' Davies . First Year . Hufflepuff ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Books? Check. Book bag? Check. Homework? Check. A set of 52 exploding snap cards? You betcha. Fire smirked as he teetered back and forth in his chair, back back BACK he'd go, and just when you think gravity would do it's job he'd lean back forward. The chair made a small squeak with each rock, though silent enough to go mostly unnoticed within the classroom, but unfortunate for whoever found themselves to be his desk-mate.
His dark maroon eyes rolled to the very corner of his peripheral as he feigned a stretch in his arms, a boy across the room gave him a small nod of acknowledgement, sneakily flashing him a glint of the small silver coins between his fingers. It wasn't alot, two sickles, but he would take whatever, plus it gave him something to do, y'know "the cure to the youngins" or somethin' like that. Not to mention it solidified his reputation in more ways then one, respect and all that good stuff.
If he kept the train going, the more odd jobs he'd get, honestly it was easy, they ask him something, or make a bet, and he gets all the earnings. Except of course the gambles he made during game matches weren't always the best gains, as it was never really easy to tell with some of the teams, unless of course it was one of the matches where it was a bunch of almost graduates against first years. Hadn't he just lost recently?
It was getting hard keeping track of the real matches and the unofficial ones recently, considering his time had been a blur. That was probably why he felt uncomfortable in his own skin, going from constantly having something to do, where as he could barely keep up, to just a single task for a sickle. He scoffed slightly in annoyance, abruptly stopping his rocking. Well it was now or never right? Fire thought to himself, the professor's was focused on her teachings, lecturing the class on herbology. Man he hated herbology, the Hufflepuff had thought alot recently, but in reality he didn't, it was the fact it didn't come easy to him, the fact he had to actually try, it bruised his ego to see not so exceptionally grades return back to him.
Well, maybe this had been coming for a long time, it had been bound to happen, considering that not even a week ago Fire had been in these very greenhouses to just get his ears exploded by mandrakes. Not the most pleasant experience in the very least. The boy's hand gently flipped open the cover of his book bag, his fingers slipping past into it's contents, drawing it the cards in his palm. Well here goes nothing, Fire thought to himself as he shuffled the cards quickly in hand.
His father had taught him how to do it, the only skill he would give his father credit for, well... Maybe not even that considering his paternal's past activities. Maybe he should be like one of those kids in the movies he saw, quit school and become some hustler. He laughed to himself, funny thing to think. Fire didn't care for warning, no dramatic declaration, just action, he just grabbed the cards and threw them out, akin to throwing breadcrumbs to birds.
The cards flew across the room, before his classmates could process what it was, they hit the desks.... BOOOOM CRACKLE BOOOOOM! The boy began to laugh, as the speckles of chaos rained from the ceiling in quick flashes. Not so bad for an ex-prefect.
