Every year, around the same time, Evangeline and her family would travel into the Wizarding World to the small cottage where her grandparents lived. The cottage itself was surrounded by a huge field of flowers, herbs and many trees who bore many fruits. It was build onto a hill which showed you miles of landscape upon looking down, and a beautiful sunset in the evening! Evangeline herself had never seen the sun rise there, because she did like to sleep out, and never woke up on time. Evangeline's grandfather once lived in a huge mansion, owned my his family. But Evangeline's grandmother was so set on her little cottage, that once they got married, her grandfather decided to move into his wife's cottage, so they could live a loving, simple life between all her flowers and plants.
Evangeline's grandmother loved all her children and grandchildren equally as much, and so every year she invited them to visit and celebrate her birthday together.

Once Evangeline arrived, she stormed towards her grandmother into a big hug. "Oh Evalin! Calm down dear, at my age, I got to be careful! Im happy to see you too my dear, how was the ride on your way here?" her grandmother said. Evangeline looked up at the old woman and giggled! "Grams, it was a 5 second travel! We used a portkey remember, I was here in a literal blink of an eye!" She said amazed and laughed at her grandmother.

When she walked into the cottage, into the living room, she could see a girl sitting in the sofa. The girl looked a little bit older than her, Evangeline swore she had seen the girl before, but just could not seem to remember who she was or where she had seen her before. Evangeline walked over to the girl and said "Just so you know, but you are sitting in my reading spot."

Jenalyn absolutely adored her younger sister.

So even now, when she is old and frail, she never misses an opportunity to visit her.

Much to Amethyst's annoyance, who was once again dragged amongst adults she had little interest in entertaining.

A portkey was the quickest route to Fleetwoods.
Amethyst hated portkeys.

She hated how her stomach would twist and turn, as if she were falling from the sky.
She was anything but Icarus.
Amethyst had always thought of him as a cobbler.
He was warned again and again and yet proceeded to do exactly what he was warned against.

The portkey deposited them atop the hill with a jolt.
Her head spun, and she regretted every sweet she had in the morning.

Amethyst looked around.
Despite her fondness for grandeur, Amethyst could never deny the beauty of the cottage.
The colourful flowers and the bright sun.
It was undeniably warm.
And it looked as if it would welcome anyone.

Jenalyn held on to Amethyst's hand and guided her inside.
Pompous greetings were exchanged between her grandmother and grandaunt, whose name she always seemed to forget.
Sticking to calling her 'grand-aunt' was easier anyhow.
The young heiress wished her grandaunt a happy birthday and handed over the gift she had protected throughout the dreaded travel.

The 9-year-old wandered around the cottage's living room.
She told herself she was simply familiarising herself with the surroundings.
But, really, she was searching for Evangeline.
Eventually she sat down on the sofa, awkwardly, unaware of what to do next.

That was when a voice sliced through the awkward silence.
She turned around.
There stood her younger cousin, Evangeline.
Now, a lot taller than the last time she met her.
Otherwise, she looked pretty much the same.

Without realising it, a faint innocent smile crept up Amethyst's face.
"Really?" she raised an eyebrow and teased, "Am I sitting in your reading spot?"

It wasn't a surprise to her that her younger cousin failed to recognise her.
The last time they met, Evangeline was barely 4.
And yet, despite understanding perfectly well, she felt a little hurt.

Evangelines cheeks started to glow red from the annoyance building up in her. She was always a nice person to everyone, but she was as much jealous as she was nice. Her grandmother had loved her always very much, and she knew her grandmother loved others and many equally as much, but Evangeline just wasn't good at sharing that love, and she would let it show.

"Yes, in a matter of fact you are, and I don't appreciate it." Evangeline said snappy. "And who are you even, I can't remember you! This is MY grams house, just so you know" Evangeline said jealous. She walked over towards the other couch standing in from of the one the girl was sitting in and sat down rather harshly. In that moment, Evangeline's grandmother, Daisy walked into the living room holding a tray of cookies and milk. "Would anyone of you girls like a cookie.. Eva, what's wrong sweety? You look troubled? Here have a cookie! You'll feel much better!" Evangeline's grams said and held out the tray of cookies, sharing them with both Evangeline and the girl in front of her.

Evangeline sat down slowly snipping of pieces of her cookie. A part of her felt bad for snapping at the stranger. It was not like she didn't feel loved, or had any reason to be jealous. But her grandmother was so precious to her, something inside her just snapped every time she saw her grandmother sharing that love with others. Even tho Evangeline grew up the same way, so love others, care for others.
Evangeline took another cookie of the tray while thinking of how to apologize to this stranger sitting in front of her.

"Evangeline," Amethyst called out softly as she bit on the cookie her grand-aunt had handed out to her. Her taste buds were flooded with sweetness, instantly putting her in a good mood, despite the less than warm reception she was receiving.
Needless to say, she was utterly shocked.
Evangeline had always been a sweet child.
At least from what Amethyst could remember.
She had certainly never seen her so cranky.

Deciding it would be wise to not tease the younger one further, Amy rose from the settee she had been occupying.
"Here," she offered, stepping aside, "you can have your seat!"

The 9-year-old adored her younger cousin, and getting on her bad side was the last thing she wanted.

Hoping the given-up seat could call for a truce, Amethyst tried again, "Do you really not remember me, Eva? I am Ame."
The nickname was deliberate.
Surely that would ring a bell.

Although Amethyst knew exactly what the answer was.
There was no way a 7-year-old could remember someone she met nearly 3 years ago.
While Grand-Aunt's place was frequented by her and her grandmother, ensuring Evangeline would be there was never easy.

Trying not to dwell on that thought, Amethyst reached for another cookie.
The young heiress carefully looked around the room, hoping her grandmother wouldn't notice.
Or even if she did, she hoped she would be spared from a lecture, that too in front of everyone.
But considering her grandmother was Jenalyn Castillo, it was a rather foolish expectation.

Pulling back from the warm hug her cousin had given her, Evangeline looked up to her in awe. She had always looked up to her cousin, and would continue to do so! She listens as her cousin continues to tell her to eat all her veggies because they are supposed to be healthy. Evangeline gives her a weird, rather disgusting feeling look and says. Evangeline, even tho she wasnt such a healthy eater, had always been rather small, and in her mothers eyes far to skinny for her age, and definitly her diet. "Yea no, eating veggies is not my thing, tending them tho!" The excitement pops off her once she starts talking about her plants.

Evangline, as many know is obsessed with taking care of her plants, preferably veggies and fruits but she has some flowers here and there is her own tiny garden house.

"You should come visit our cottage one day Ame! I have so many plants u should see! My strawberries are really popping off this year! Oh i should have brought some, you would have loves them!" She says dissapointed and drops herself onto the couch with a big sigh.

Evangeline had always had a rather dramatic characteristic, but mostly in a positive way. She was passionate and kind, caring and just loved to express her feelings. Plants were her way of escaping life. Taking care of them brought her peace, even tho she herself was already such a calming precense.
She looked up at Ame in amaze. "You probably dont like pants, not many people do i understand, What do you like to do Ame?" She asked and made her head rest in both of her hands leaning her elbows onto her lap listening excited to her cousin.

Amethyst could see the wheels turning in Evangeline's head due to the deliberate mention of her nickname.
She was rarely called by a nickname, and even if someone did, it was mostly "Amy". The nickname given by Eva was closer to her heart than she could admit.
Evangeline's sudden burst of excitement made Amethyst jump up in surprise. She couldn't help but gush over her younger cousin's cuteness.
Now that she had herself recognised, she assumed it was safe to call for a hug.
"Come here," the 9-year-old called, a big toothy grin forming on her own face with her arms stretched out.
Amethyst had heard countless people complimenting her before, but Evangeline seemed so much more genuine.

"Well," she remarked in a sing-song voice, "to grow taller and prettier, you need to eat healthy!"
"Lots of fruits and vegetables!" she further exclaimed.
As if.
She was lying for the sake of being older.
Amethyst barely touched the vegetables and greens in her food.
The 9-year-old was good at escaping healthy diets. Not one day had gone by in her life where she did not manage to indulge in sweets.
Sometimes it was on permit, the other times she was just good at sneaking those dishes into her bedroom.
The young heiress had picked up another cookie from the tray as soon as she finished her sentence.
Ironic, wasn't it?

Evangeline listened to her cousin carefully. How on earth would vegetables make her prettier and grow taller? Evangeline ate vegetables like candy! She planted them herself so she always wants to try what she grows herself. So naturally she just eats a ton of them, because her plants grow a ton of them. Her mother grows a lot of veggies in her garden too, fruits as well, so every meal they have fresh greens to cook with. Since they grow way more veggies then the family of 3 could ever consume, her mother gifts the veggies around in town to families in need, which always gives Eva a good feeling, a feeling of kindness and caring.
"But I eat more veggies than anything else? And im not pretty at all, and definitely not tall!" Evangeline says while sighing and looking up at her cousin.

As she looks at her cousin she noticed the book laying on the dresser standing beside the couch on which her cousin is currently sitting. She jumps up and runs towards the book, taking a seat next to her cousin and showing of the book she is now holding onto.
"It's a muggle book! My dad has to be there for his work and sometimes he stops at a muggle book store! Apparently it's very popular among muggles! It's called "pride and prejudice"!" Evangeline says excitedly showing off her muggle book. "It's my favourite! And it's crazy, there isn't a mention of magic at all! And it's supposed to be really old, isn't that odd?" she says to her cousin, her eyes filled with excitement to share her other hobby with her cousin.
