Damaris left her room at night. There were still other students awake and out in the corridors, so she wasn't going to get a lecture from anyone for being out, or at least that's what she hoped. She left her friends in their shared Gryffindor bedroom and left the common room, looking for a place to think and process everything she had experienced in such a short time. She walked without even thinking about where she was going and, without realizing it, ended up in the courtyard. Luckily, it was empty, which she appreciated. She walked to the fountain in the center and sat down. She looked around and, seeing no one, lay down, letting one leg dangle and the other stretched out along the side where she had lain, gazing at the night sky. There were many stars in the sky. A slightly cold wind was blowing, making her hair stand on end, but she didn't move. She stayed there, enjoying the peace she had. "but my head is full of posion, and my heart is full of doubt.....I got toxins in my bloodstream, you tried hard to suck 'em out...." she sang quietly, comfortable knowing she was alone in the courtyard, which allowed her to gently hum a song she had heard in Liverpool before arriving at Hogwarts. "and it feels like medication, and it's good for me, I'm sure....". She continued singing softly, just to herself, as she gazed at the stars in the sky, relaxed, comfortable, and at peace in the schoolyard. She closed her eyes from time to time, letting herself be carried away by the cool breeze and the tranquility she felt, the relaxation that enveloped her body.
