First Year, Full Steam Ahead!
Rikkali had been escorted to platform 9 3/4 by her foster parents. They had explained how to get onto the platform and then sent her through the barrier first. They had followed her through. On the platform, loomed a large black and red train. Normally it wouldn't have been that impressive, as she had seen trains before. But this one was different. This one was about to change her life forever, as she was about to embark on a magical journey. Her foster mother spoke, "I remember my first time riding this train. I was so excited and scared at the same time." she said. "I don't remember whether I was excited or scared." came the foster father's voice. "And look at us now, excited or scared, we turned out alright." her foster mother added.
"I'm excited but also determined." Rikkali replied.
Her foster parents each hugged her and then her foster mother gave her a gentle nudge toward the train. "Enjoy dear." her foster mother called after her as she climbed the steps to board the train. She turned and gave them a wave then continued on.
She began looking into each compartment for a place to sit. Every compartment had been full. She finally found an empty one, she considered her lucky to have found that and went inside. She changed into her robes, then took her seat next to the window, peering out it..
