The Great Wand Find
I opened the door to Ollivanders the bell above the door ringed. It sounded so familiar to the stores back home that I almost felt the slightest twinge of comfortable-ness for the first time since I arrived here in Diagon Alley.

An old man with crazy white hair and wide light eyes came out from between two shelves stacked dangerously high with small boxes.

"Hello! And your name is?"

"Hi, my name is Haeli. Haeli Randall." I said with the slightest smile.

"Good, good. What kind of wand are you looking for today?"

"I have no idea. I am going to be a first year so I pretty much know absolutely nothing about magic and wands and all that kind of stuff."

"Ok, ok. That is not a problem." He said as he walked back in between the same two shelves. He stepped onto a ladder and climbed a few rungs before stopping and reaching for a box on one of the shelves.

He came back towards me with the random box he just pulled off of the shelf.

"Try this one." He opened the box and held it out to me. Inside was a long brown stick like wand. I grabbed it and looked at him like an absolute moron.

" Well, give it a wave." He demonstrated with is empty hand. He just waved his hand in a short circle, so I imitated him. I heard a crack and all of a sudden there was a lamp across the room that fell over and shattered.

"Oh no. I am so sorry." I said with a very sympathetic look on my face as I hastily laid the wand on the counter, very eager to get it out of my hands before I broke something else.

The man chuckled and said, "Its not a big deal. It happens more then you might think."

He took the wand and put it back in the box. He put the box back in what I think is the exact same spot and came back with another. This one was different however. It was kind of medium length and it had little rings around the handle with a ball of wood connecting the handle to the rest of it. The end of the wand had the slightest curve like bend to it.

I picked it up and hesitantly aimed it across the room and gave it a short circle like motion. Not much happened, actually. It just started to get warm in my hand, sort of like it was melting.

"That's the one for you!" The man stated with a smile.

I smiled back at him and thanked him. I payed and I was on my way after he wished me luck on a great first year at Hogwarts. On to the next store!
