Stirring Up Old Times
When: Saturday, 13th June 2026 | Where: Colmar, France
Who: @Méabh Regan
The former Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts had spent over seven years at the school, working diligently through the night, every weekend and every single holiday. She could count the number of vacations that she took off on her hands, and they were mostly Christmas Day itself. However, despite spending most of her time at the school, she got along with very few people from the castle. That number could also be counted on her hands and was probably far fewer than the number of vacations she had taken.
Of those people, one of them was a former potions professor. As a former potioneer herself, she had spent many hours brewing in the potions room to ensure that the castle was fully stocked - especially of healing potions given how many students got injured on a daily basis.
Since leaving the castle, she would find herself occasionally writing letters. Not many, but once every few months and she found that the other lady was also travelling the world - though she suspected it was for entirely different reasons than her own. Most people just travelled for, you know, fun or experience.
Hjørdis found herself living in a beautiful town in Colmar, in France recently, though they were considering moving once more in the coming weeks. Where they would go next, she had no idea, but this area was beautiful and somewhat more remote than popular tourist attractions like Paris.
She made her way over to the local market, where she needed to pick up some pomegranate juice and fresh ginger, which were the final ingredients that she needed to whip up a quick batch of a potion that she needed to make. Donning muggle clothes, Hjørdis blended in with her hair tied up in a high ponytail and a summery dress for the warmer day, with a pair of flats. She also had a tote bag made out of small granny squares for her groceries. She would have to grab a bottle of wine, of course, as Colmar had some fabulous wine.
As she strolled through the market, examining the stalls and what they had to offer, she passed behind a woman with dark brown hair. She had walked a further metre or two before she paused and did a double-take, "Méabh?" She asked as she examined the side of her face, suddenly recognising it. Of all of the people to run into, she had not anticipated this one - though she did recall Méabh saying that she would likely be travelling to Northern France in her next trip in the last letter that she had received.
