The Library was unusually busy for a Sunday morning. The sun's rays, casting elongated rectangles of gold, across the long tables, many dusty bookshelves and the many students. The sound of quills scratching again parchment and the occasional turn of a page were the only sounds breaking through the murmuring of student gossip.

At one table a head was barely visible, towered over by many stacks of textbooks, parchment, and annotations. A deep furrow creased his brow, his quill scratching the parchment in a rough pace.

She opened the heavy oak doors to the library..

Stepping inside, Maddison stopped, pausing for just a second by the doors as she scanned for an empty seat. The familiar smell of old parchment gathering dust quickly became obvious. Carrying a heavy stack of books, Maddison walked round, keeping an eye out for an empty desk, or seat. Through the sea of students, an empty seat was hard to find.

As she moved about the library, one of the books became loose on the pile and fell.

The loud thud as it hit the floor sounded deafening in the quietness of the library.

Several heads turned instantly.

Maddison knelt quickly, trying to quickly recollect her papers and the book.

He's there.
No, no, not Chatt. I mean—well technically he is there. But, he's there. He himself sat, somewhere more open. Every where he would look, books, shelves, towered over after the other. The rows of knowledge within. Students dispersed, groups, individuals, all scattered around the library.

The library is not all that quiet if you'd believe it. The patter of shoes broke it, students talking, close to a whisper. Close.

Chatt was with someone, a friend. He'd help her study, in exchange for a tip. He would be there. Sitting across from each other, the girl spoke.

"When was the international secrecy..uh.." She'd scribble her words. "Something signed again—"
"1689." He didn't even bat an eye.
"Okay smart-ass."

The girl followed his eyes, the sight made her furrow her thin lines.
"Hey—I helped you, you're supposed to be helping me too!"
Chatt looked at her, expression slumped. "Okay fine."
Taking out a parchment, he'd jot down. Brows furrowed out of annoyance. His quill scratched through the words, taking everything out through memory.

"Okay so, in 1689—"
Thud!

The loud sound, broke the occasional library tone. The sepia tone on the air, disturbed by a single person.
Both their heads turn, attracted to the sound. But as he was also attracted to the boy, he turned around his way covertly. Leaning his eyes towards him, not so obviously. It was mature of him to not care, he thought.

He looked back to the girl, scrambling, picking up her collections of books and parchment. Whilst her kneeling, at the same time, gathering, wasn't helping her at all. Chatt sighed at pity.
He stood up, chair scraping the flooring. It's sound pierced through the friends ear.

Walking towards, he knelt down, picking up a few parchments and books. "You can sit at our table if you want." Gesturing his head towards the table itself.

His fingers, pausing through the papers.
He'd look around, a few stares, but no tables avail.
He'd look at her once more, assuming she needed one.

The moment the books hit the floor, Maddison could feel every pair of eyes on her.

Brilliant.

Of all the many places to draw attention to herself, she had somehow managed to do it in the library. The one where every noise was twice as loud and there was no hiding behind other noise.

Feeling everyone's eyes on her she scrambled to pick everything up before it rolled further so she could get everyone's attention off of her.

All of a sudden, another pair of hands appeared.

Looking up to see who it was, Maddison saw the boy kneeling down and beginning to gather the loose papers she had dropped.

''You can sit at our table if you want.''

''Oh uh thank you.'' She smiles quickly at him.

She quickly looked at the table he points at. Another girl is sat there already, watching the ordeal.

Surprised by the invitation, she quickly thinks it over.

Majority of the people she'd met already were happy to just stick with the people they knew and the friends they'd already made. She hadn't expected to be invited by complete strangers but something about it made her feel quite content.

She took the last parchment roll from him, tucking a strand of hair behind her ears that had fallen out of place during the commotion.

"Are you sure? " she questioned tentatively "I dont want to disturb whatever vibe you have going on at the moment."

She smiles quickly to hide any awkwardness or embarrassment.

"However, considering how you got called a smart-ass earlier maybe i might be improving it." she jokes, laughing nervously.

As her hands took off, away from his, Chatt smiled back.
Chuckling. "Oh, so you speak French?" He'd ask whilst slowly rising from the floor. Towering over her.
It was quite an embarrassment. For her of course—but for Chatt? He didn't mind. He knew most of them, would they laugh it off? Boast? Maybe. Unsure what to do next, seeing as he figured she carried a lot. He'd guide her to their table.

Walking towards the center, taking a quarter from the stack she had been carrying, to the other side where no supplies were placed.
"She's sitting here. Is that alright?"
"Yeah—yep!" Quickly changing her bantering tone, to a nice welcoming one. Moving herself and her belongings making room.

"Sit! Sit! You're very pretty!"
Resting her eyes, between her locks and facials.

His mind wandered off once more. So did his eyes. Slowly fading away, his thoughts wandering throughout the room. Light flowing in slowly, like a boat finding it's way through the sea of fog, guided by the tower that contained its glow. He'd flinch by the unfaltering taps that each placed on his foot.
Looking back, stares like dagger went through his.
"Right?"
"Yes?"
"RIGHT?"
"?"

Looking at her, seeing her platinum tresses, in contrast with her ashened eyes. He would agree.
"Yeah."
"Sorry, I didn't quite catch your name?"

That was right. Introductions were to follow. Leaning with his forearms on the table to stable. bars Quite interested with her story.
"Chatt Auclair—or just Chatt." "This is—"
"Don't speak for me."
Eyeing eachother, Chatt's brow rose.
"Hello! I'm Lianne~"
Her sweet, quite unusual tone shivered down towards Chatt's spine.
"Yeah. . Lianne.." Clearing his throat. "What's yours?"

She couldn't help but laugh quietly at the exchange between the two. Their back and forth was effortless, the kind that only came from knowing someone well. It eased the embarrassment she had felt from dropping her stuff just moments earlier.

Carefully setting down the rest of her things on the now cleared space, she sank into the chair with a grateful smile. ''Thank you'' she said sincerley to both of them ''I promise i'm not usually that clumsy''

At Lianne's compliment, and Chatt's agreement, warmth began to rise to her cheeks. ''Thanks, thats so nice of you'' she admitted, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ears ''Your gorgeous yourself.''

''I'm Maddison.'' She replied, offering a smile. ''Its nice to meet you both.''

Her eyes drifted across the open books covering the table, before landing on a piece of parchment in front of Chatt. Judging by how many notes it was covered in, she figured they'd been studying long before she interrupted them.

''I hope I haven't completely derailed your study session.'' she added apologetically. ''I'd just feel awful if I barged in and became today's biggest distraction. Despite saying it, she felt more relaxed, as if she'd stumbled into the company of two people who didn't mind making room for a stranger.

I stopped asking the world to make room for me. Now it moves when I walk through it

Chatt had been peculiar in conversations. The Library was a place filled with knowledge and understanding, whereas the possibilities of unopened wisdom had been seen here and there. Studying was their purpose, but Lianne knew who he was there for. Across pages of written text served as better eye-candy for Chatt. Impolite as it was to ignore a girl whose manners and posture served them differently, they weren't to blame when Chatt's eyes could follow automatically.

They sat around the oaken table, or was it spruce? Minecraft knowledge came absent in Chatt's memories.

The loud banter between the two, though homework was overdue, altered into a new soul of quiet colloquy of intention. Meanwhile, he was there, and she was here; there would be another such interaction, Chatt would "accidentally" hope. He'd sigh, facing them both properly.

Lianne, with her unknowing playful personality—a facade and misdirection from her usual pose to Chatt.
"No, no at all!" She'd lean in closer to Maddison. "To tell you the truth—I needed another company than this a-hole—"
"I'm still here, you know." His voice can be touched by the loud waves by the shore of the ocean. Loud enough, eyes would turn to appreciate its beauty and yet—calm, to convert the sorrows into a thought of blank space peace.

"Finally came back to your senses, you don't get a chance?"
"Hey—"

"Anyways! We could use another company." Lianne's contact with Chatt's eyes, the way her iris could stab deep into his, eyelids eyelidding, he could tell this was a "Boy if yo ass don't talk rn. . ."

"Anyways, Maddy—can I call you that? Aren't us in the same year? I've seen you around here and there, yes?" English wasn't his greatest asset for now.
"Sorry, English isn't his greatest asset." Girl what?
"But, why were you even carrying a bunch of books? We could study together if you want."
