Prefect... the title still didn't sit quite right with the Spinks girl. The main thing that had changed for the bird were the eye rolls and jests from her friends, and the added responsibility of patrolling the castle. Today, Adeline strolled through the corridors, not expecting much of the excursion. The day had been uneventful so far, but she would soon find herself face to face with a familiar sight and problem.

Rounding the corner at a leisurely pace, Adeline let out a tiny sigh at what her blue eyes fell on; a very clearly lost first year. She always loved encountering firsties and taking a walk down memory lane in their shoes, and today was no exception. The boy had warm toned skin and kind eyes, despite their troubled glint. He was a hufflepuff, and Adeline was positive she had not seen him around the castle yet.

She approached the boy, standing up straighter in an attempt to seem more put together and authoritative. Despite her best efforts, the little raven still carried a touch of nervousness in her tone.

"Are you lost?" She began, a kind smile washing over her face. "I'm Adeline, and um.. I'm a prefect. I know a bit about the place. " Her face flushed just a touch at her awkwardness. "If you need some help, I've got you covered!"

Atlas looks up, slightly surprised someone cared enough to not ignore him. With a soft, tentative voice, he replies

"I....yeah, I got lost. This place is so big, and then the stairs moved, so I got off and asked a ghost, and he pointed me here, and now I don't know where I am and how to get to my class"

Unknowingly, Atlas asked a jokster ghost for directions, so of course they played another joke and gave him the wrong directions because first years are more gullible.

"I...uh....I need to be....."

Atlas rummages through his bag, trying to find his timestable. Atlas's skin starts to have a slight pink tint out of embarrassment and thinking he looks even more like an idiot than he already did. After a couple of minutes, Atlas finally pulls out his timetable and starts looking at it, trying to find the right day on the schedule, nearly dropping it in the process.

Atlas looks up at Adeline, eyes scanning her features. Atlas unconsciously mirrors Adeline's eye colour due to him being a metamorphmagus. Atlas accidentally drops his timetable and scrambles to pick it up, adjusting his robes.

"I...need to be.....in..."

Atlas checks his timetable again, having already forgotten.

"......charms? Do you know where that is.......?"

Atlas looks up with cautious and embarrassed but slightly hopeful eyes.

The corners of the Ravenclaw's mouth set into a kind, reassuring smile as the boy collected his thoughts. It wasn't hard to get lost in this place - she would be his anchor today. It did come as a bit of a shock to the girl when the boy's eyes shifted hue to mirror her own... Is he a metamorph? Addie suddenly grew more intrigued by the first year badger.

The currently blue-eyed-boy was looking for charms class. "Charms! Of course." She started off back in the direction the boy had come from. "You only missed a turn, we will be there before you know it." The walk would be rather short to get to the classroom, but long enough to ask the question weighing on Adeline. She turned to face the wizard."I ... couldn't help but notice your eyes. They, well..." Adeline twiddled nervously with her hair as she continued. "they... changed. Are you a metamorphmagus?" The words came out a bit excitedly; Adeline had never met a metamorph before, much less see one transform so casually before her eyes.

Just then her face flushed bright red. She hadn't even bothered to ask the boy his name, yet here she was prying into his life. She piped back up once more to correct her error. "I'm sorry, I never caught your name." She pushed a stray piece of hair behind her ear. "What can I call ya?"

Atlas follows the kind Ravenclaw, his eyes widening slightly at the question.

"Oh uh, I'm Atlas......the uh eye change thing happens, don't know how or why........sorry if it creeps you out....I uh can't control it"

Atlas half mumbles, embarrassed and surprised that someone noticed so quickly despite his efforts, as well as realizing he totally forgot to introduce himself and feeling like even more of an idiot before he realizes there is an unknown word from what she just said, and it sparks an interest and slight embarrassment, thinking he should know. He thinks back, trying to find anything in his memory of something relating to that word, but in the end he finds absolutely nothing.

"Um.....and uh what is a metamorph?"

Atlas asks shyly, feeling almost embarrassed by his lack of knowledge about this unknown world to him. The pinkish tint in his face grows slightly more pronounced as he looks up at Adeline, his eyes scanning the soft features of her face before meeting her kind gaze. His eyes are still the same colour as hers, noticeably different from his usual deep, icy blue eyes. His left hand is fidgeting with a small galaxy patterned fidget cube in his pocket.
