DARE - the worst thing that's happened today (so far) Finished

"You want me ta what?!" Prometheus almost shrieked, unable to refrain from stumbling back slightly. "Oh, no. No freakin' way, what the heck!" He said, and he could already tell he was blushing in embarrassment. His housemate's words replayed in his head.

"Write a song about someone and sing it in the great hall..."

"I'm changin' my mind, Truth," he says hopefully, only to be met with Michora and Winter's determined faces. He could already tell there was no way he was gonna change their minds... No way to get out of this, no way at all.

A few days full of nagging later, Prometheus had to face fate. For one, while his ego was almost non-existent, the same could not be said for his pride. He just couldn't allow himself to not accept this dare, no matter how "completely stupid truth or dare is." Whether or not he wanted to publicly embarrass himself (which, he didn't), he decided that he was basically obligated to follow through on the consequences of his own rash decision.

"I'm never playin' truth or dare again," he moped, "like, ever again." He was walking slowly, dragging his feet with a heart that felt to be made of stone. Halfheartedly, he turned to his friend Michora, giving her a weak grin. "So, I was thinkin', it's a real nice day, let's just go out to the courtyard..." She didn't buy his diversion, even laughed a little, and so it was with a heavy heart that Prometheus had to accept his fate—singing, in the great hall. He'd already written a song, but it was kind of random, and he hated it, which was fine, he Normally hated what he wrote. Normally, he didn't have to sing it, though. Oh well, he could always move to Atlantis or something afterwards...

He and Michora walked into the Great Hall together. It was around lunchtime, but since it was a weekend, it wasn't too crowded or organized, in fact, he could definitely see different groups of people doing random hopefully-more-interesting things. That was good, at least, so he didn't feel as mortified as if everyone was seated and staring at him... Soonly enough (and after grabbing a sandwich), he stood around the edges of the room, ready to face his doom.

Before that, though, Prometheus cleared his throat and faced Michora. "Okay," he started. "I just want to tell you that you're like, one of the only friends I have here, so please don't leave me even if I make your ears bleed..." With that aside, he begun to carry out the dare he'd been given, tapping a rhythm quietly on the chair before letting his voice join, starting to sing and trying not to think about it much.

"Many months ago, I said to you, “Hello newcomer,”
Then too soon, and With eyes like the seas kissed the skies,
You left midsummer
‘Course since then, I’ve only remembered your eyes,

Those eyes from that pretty summer’s girl
When I go to the sea, I remember the breeze,
How you choked me with your pearls
And nearly being drowned in the Hyades’ tearfilled seas

I forgot your name, but not your lines
So many words I’ll never fully comprehend
Despite you repeating them so many times
All I understand myself is the hole in my heart that may never mend,

Though with time I hope to see you again,
‘Cause everything aside; you were an interesting friend."

(OOC) Okay, it's a sonnet, not exactly a song.
But he's singing it, so it counts!! That aside.
I wrote an actual sonnet...!! I'm very happy.
*happy*
Prometheus ended up standing up, taking Michora's hands, and twirling a bit while he sang. It was initially to calm his nerves, but he also felt a bit away from the room while he was singing, similar to zoning out, maybe, but a bit different.

It was sort of maybe even fun in the moment while he was doing it, though he was far too wisened and attuned to his socially anxious persona to admit that in front of anyone who might try to dare him something as crazy as this again...
