Hex Ambrose | Gryffindor

Hex here,
First year Gryffindor and looking forward to getting to business in learning spells and makin' friends!

Appearance: My hair is like a lion's mane, starting a darker blonde and fading into a lighter and paler colour. Always wavy, never can be tamed. Dark hazel eyes - I would say that they have golden flecks in them but everyone I say this to always disputes it! Pale, classic Scotland tan, and usually adorned in bracelets and necklaces - hidden under my uniform of course.

Personality: Pretty chill, just me - take it or leave it. Always up for a laugh and loyal to those who are loyal to me. I am a big fan of spending time out in the forest and grounds. Fresh air is good for the soul and all that. Especially in a thunderstorm - that's my favourite kind of weather.

History Hex grew up very close to her older brother. Once he left to join Hogwarts, she found herself missing that fun and adventure within her life. Attending school, she got bored easily. She would often daydream in class and end up in teachers bad books. It wasn’t that she couldn’t do the work - in fact, she would often received the highest grade in the classes. It was rather that she couldn’t listen when it counted. She was, however, a big reader and would spend her free time pouring over books about magic and fantasy, it reminded her of her brother.

Hex is a very laidback and calm person, her words can sound nonchalant and uncaring but that’s merely because she subscribes to the motto - what will be will be. She doesn’t worry about the future and she tries to ignore the past. Sometimes, especially starting at a new school, those anxious feelings surface, but she’s quick to shut them down by taking action and control.

She tries to echo her personality in her looks, with blonde/brown hair and hazel eyes, adorned with amber flecks. Her winged eyeliner accentuates the look and she can often be found wearing largely baggy and oversized sweaters. She loves wearing gold jewellery and is often covered in rings of varying quality, including a gold one her mother gave her upon starting school.

Starting Hogwarts, she is most excited about making friends and getting her own pet. Her brother has always had an owl but she is hoping to get a cat, a friend to be by her side no matter what. She loves animals and spending time in nature so is hoping to excel at Care of Magical Creatures, when the opportunity arises. She doesn’t quite understand the house system, having only heard about Ravenclaw from her brother, but she is keen to carve her own way in whichever house she is sorted to


First Instance of Magic: Hex's first instance of magic occurred when she was 10 years old. She was enjoying being outside, playing in the woods with her brother. It started to rain and her parents told them it was time to leave. Getting angry, Hex refused. When her mother went to pull her arm to get her to leave, a nearby stick burst into flames. Terrified, Hex immediately ran to hug her mother. She was so scared. Her mother assured her it was okay, having seen similar things with her brother, and let her know that it wasn't her fault
