Countless times she'd been at the library it never got old. Angel was not here to read but rather have the nice lovely view it offered. Velvet carpet that was pleasing. Seeing the nature and feeling the cool spring breeze. It felt very fetching. She can get used to being much more lax than she was last month, everything was happening so fast she couldn't even manage to utter a breath. Angel needed to steady herself. Maybe her parents wondering what her life is like now? If she could answer she'd say just fine. Decent just decent.
There was something very taxing. Jet lagged. It takes a while to get used to a busy environment. Angel was a much more quiet person. Once in a blue moon you'd find her emotional. With two rivals and maybe plenty of friends, it was hard being the chipper type. Recharging was really what she needed. She was really never left alone till now. This can be a change of pace. This is what she can get used to for sure.
Only a handful of students were here. Company, she didn't mind it at all. The space was neatly tidied, window curtains clean and opaque, endless rows of any topics. The odd forbidden section that has cobwebs as always. Taking a slow deep breath this was a vacation for her. The simple things in life are really grand in itself. That was an agreement.
Good things were sometimes put on hold even if it was not the same event. This was surely when Angel went up to the suspicious books. The books over at the isle few rows behind needed to be fixed. Jaw almost dropped she closed her eyes and covered her mouth. That was a lot of books. So much it can fill a mini library in one's house. But how come so many books were on the floor laying there? That's a mystery. It felt like she was already tasked to fix them. Perhaps it had been on her own accord. Broken and ripped too. Horrid scene. Luckily Ms.Helen the librarian was here for the day as always. Walking up to her with padded feet she asked a question if she can fix the books.
"Hello Ms.Helen, may I fix those books for you? They look like they've been unattended for days on end! I found them lying there." she asked politely
"Oh! Of course dear, thank you for helping out. Feel free to take a peppermint as well!" the librarian said
Smiled and nodded, she took a peppermint and chewed. This can keep her up. Angel never complained of orders, it can keep her busy but if she had something else to do it can surely make her be a bit thrown off. Especially when you've thought you're done for the day. It was not the case as of now. Now she needed to get her body and posture up right and rub her eyes. Tired and in need of more sleep. At least she was on top of work. Nothing to worry about but countless nights of all nighters was not good. For someone as young as her.
"Wingardium Leviosa!" she said
The books were now afloat and three were organized. Bare minimum. Sighing again she kneeled and grabbed the books by hand and much more than what the spell could've floated. But there was still much more to do. Batting her eyes she was about to fall asleep.
"Focus. The books won't go to the shelves by themselves." she says as she yawned
"Reparo!" she said as she pointed to one book
Other people were still here. Good. At least she won't be the only one here. One things for sure, her stay at the library will be more than a minute. Hopefully the whole shelf will be better than what it looked like before. There was so much books she didn't know if she can be here the whole day. The librarian said she can come tomorrow to finish it off. Nope not happening. With much more boost of energy and encouragement and a goal in hand she was much more engaged in the activity.
"I really can use a helping hand. Would mean so much to me right now"
"Phew. I think I'm making progress here." she said with a irritated tone
The dimming light over casted making light towards the shadows of any nook and cranny. As she made towards the end there was only a few books. She started to make a plan. Work with the easiest then the rest of the group. It can certainly speed up the process and make more progress. It had a nice roll on the tongue.
The students who did this were surely able to spare their money. In her school before, broken book means paying a hefty amount of dollars. More like a fine for not taking care of it.
