At 10:30 a.m. that day, the Li family arrived at King's Cross Station. Mr. Li took Liyyu’s suitcase out of the car, while Liyyu and her mother both stared at the station.
The letter Liyyu had received said that they had to go to Platform 9¾ at King's Cross Station. Liyyu pushed her trolley, slowly observing the station carefully. Her heart began beating faster, she could not see anything labeled 9¾ like what was written in her letter. Mr. Li asked one of the station staff there, but the man said there was no Platform 9¾.

“I already asked one of the staff there, he said there’s no Platform 9¾, dear,” Mr. Li said carefully. He knew Liyyu was secretly disappointed because she had been very excited about this trip before. Liyyu did not say anything, but she knew she felt a little... disappointed... even though she did not say it openly.

At 10:45 a.m., according to the schedule, the train would depart in fifteen minutes. In the middle of her almost hopeless feelings, the corner of her eye caught something and she immediately turned her head. She was sure she had just seen someone disappear. She stared at the place. A wall between Platforms 9 and 10.

“Mom, Dad!” Liyyu pointed toward the place, causing Mr. and Mrs. Li to follow her gaze. Liyyu looked around again and saw a child who also seemed to be pushing a trolley. The child casually walked toward the barrier between Platforms 9 and 10, then suddenly picked up a little speed and plop! they disappeared.

“I think I should do it too,” Liyyu said firmly.
“Well then... We can... err... try it,” Mr. Li replied.
Liyyu pushed her trolley while accompanied by her parents.
“Oh... I don’t know if this will work...”

“I’ll try it!”
Liyyu looked at both of her parents and smiled faintly. “Goodbye, Mom, Dad.”
“Be careful, dear.”

Liyyu stood firmly, gripping her trolley tightly. Her feet began to move, faster and faster with every step. She closed her eyes. No— she was going to crash into the wall. But her legs kept moving faster, there was no time to stop, her eyes remained shut and... plop.

Liyyu heard the noise of people talking all around her. Slowly, she opened her eyes. The sight in front of her left her amazed. She turned around —the wall, and above it, Platform 9¾. She had successfully passed through it, and now a new journey was about to begin.
