Steam rolled heavily across Platform 9 ¾, curling around students and luggage alike while the loud whistle of the Hogwarts Express echoed through the station. Voices could be heard from every direction, overlapping with each other in the air, creating a busy and active atmosphere.

Clark stood a bit aside, his fingers absently turning one of the silver rings on his hand while he wathed the chaos around him. The platform felt overwhelming for him. The crowded places always were to full of movement, filled with too much noises, and too many people people were passing by too closely.

His eyes were locked onto Finlay, not so far away from him. He was loading his suitcases into the separate luggage carrige of the train. He watched how he placed Clarks beloved bag beside his suitcases.

Finlay, his butler, was the only one, that went with him here. He was the one that went shopping with him for all his supplies for Hogwarts. Who was now loading his Luggage onto the train, that would bring him to the place, he got an owl from, not long ago.

From Hogwarts.

The thought still didn‘t feel entirely real.

He was leaving for this school, Finlay, his parents and many other great wizards attended.

He wondered what it would be like there.

At Hogwarts.

But for now, he had to get onto the train, to even get there.

And the train wasn’t going to wait for him, if he didn‘t get on it on time.

When Finlay returned, Clark thanked him for storing his luggage.

But then it was time to say goodbye.

After a short wave and a quiet ‘goodbye‘, Clark climbed up the stairs that lead to one of the train‘s carriages.

Inside he was met with a crowded hallway, leading to the doors of each compartment.Clark made his way through the crowd, till he reached a compartment, that looked rather empty.

Which was good, because that meant, less noise and less crowding.

Clark let himself sag onto one of the seats, and let his gaze trail to the window.

This was it.

He was going to Hogwarts.

The platform was crowded. Everyone was saying goodbye to their parents, getting in the train or walking back and forth to try and find an empty compartment. Ayla took a second to look around: this was it, she was going to Hogwarts. Her mother and her dad have been telling her about this school were they had their best memories, they even met there. She was reallyhoping to make a lot of friends.

The only thing weird is that she wasn't as scared as the other first year she could see on the platform. Probably because her older brother was already at Hogwarts, so she knew she could find him in Hufflepuff common room if something goes wrong

Once her brother was gone, she turned around to face her parents and hugged them.

-I'm gonna miss you soooo much. I'll send you a lot of letters! Love you.

The girl hugged them one last time before taking her luggage and getting in the train. She stopped at the entrance, waved one last time at her parents and eventually got in. The train was full of excited students. Ayla was rather sociable but she needed some time to think about her new life at Hogwarts.
She looked through a bunch of compartments, each with more excited first years than the others, before finding one with one boy in it, who seemed to be a first year.

-Can I sit there?

I hope it's good for you

Clark had been engrosed in his thoughts, staring out of the compartment window, when a voice cut through his brainstorming.

For a moment he was caught off guard.

The Train had already begun to roll out of platform 9 ¾, becoming faster, transforming the waving parents and siblings into a blur of colours.

When he finally sorted his thoughts, and was able to react to the things surrounding him.

He let his gaze shift towards the opened door, taking in a girl, probably around his age, standing there with her luggage, looking hopeful and rather happy? That alone was setting him off. Because most first years, were rather nervous and scared of what was to come, of what to expect from Hogwarts.

Clark set up a bit straighter than needed, before giving the girl infront of him an answer.

“Uh…y-yeah. Of course.“

The compartment was practically empty besides, after all.

He shifted slightly, his fingers briefly fidgeting with one of the silver rings that were decorating his hand.

The silence that followed after Clarks sad excuse of an answer was immediate, and felt suffocating. Clark wasn‘t particularly good at first impressions. Never had been.

“Uhm…I‘m Clark by the way.“, he tried again. He decided that introductions were probably expected in situations like this.

His next words came more quietly than the others but still carried a hint of steadiness.

“First year too?“

It felt like a safe question.

And maybe just maybe this train ride wouldn‘t just be filled with his thoughts.
