There are places in the world where the trees grow too close together. Where people can't see what is really happening beyond the veil. Places where sound travels strangely, where paths shift overnight, and where the forest seems less like a place and more like a living thing watching from just beyond the edge of wandlight.

This adventure begins at the edge of one such place, Hogwarts.

For years now students and staff alike have reported strange occurrences, disappearances, old crones with dark and dangerous power.

Beyond the Treeline is a moderated multi-thread adventure involving:

• exploration
• mystery
• horror elements
• potion misuse
• puzzles
• investigation
• survival themes
• possible moderated combat encounters

Player choices and group decisions will impact the direction and outcome of the story.

This will be the first of several connected threads forming a larger narrative event. As this is not a staff-supported event, communications regarding this event will go through normal player channels such as Looking for RP Partners and thread shares.

Thread One: Detention Detail

A group of students: troublemakers, rulebreakers, repeat offenders, and those simply unlucky enough to be caught at the wrong time are assigned detention on Hogwarts grounds.

Their task is simple:

• clear debris near the old wardline
• remove storm-felled branches
• assist in restoring a neglected stretch of land bordering the Forbidden Forest

Faculty supervision is minimal. The work is miserable. Tempers run short quickly.

Then they find something...

At first it seems harmless, but when the detention ends and students return to their lives, something comes with them.

Expectations

Participants are expected to:

• Maintain reasonable activity throughout the event - weekly
• Meet standard site minimum word count requirements - 200 words per post
• Follow all site rules and moderation instructions
• Be willing to engage collaboratively with other players
• Be registered with Index prior to participation

Please do not sign up if you do not believe you can remain reasonably active during the course of the event, as inactivity may stall progression for the entire group.

Moderated combat, injury, fear effects, and consequence-based choices are likely.

AI & Media Disclosure

This adventure may utilize AI-assisted visual or audio media for atmospheric purposes, including:

• trailers
• environmental imagery
• corrupted footage
• audio distortions
• visual puzzle elements

All roleplay writing, descriptions, narrative progression, moderation, and story content will be written and directed by a human in accordance with site policy.

All media used will either:

• be created by the event runner,
• properly licensed/purchased,
• used with permission from the original creator.

Attribution will be provided where appropriate.

If you have a conscientious objection to AI media being used in a way to supplement adventures, please do not participate in this thread.
