Lauren needed to get back at her siblings. She couldn't let their crimes go unjustified. And her professors never taught her any interesting spells. The best she had learnt was the Curse of the Bogies. And that wasn't enough to pay back what her siblings did to her.
Obviously, Lauren was not one to forgive and forget. Probably because of her Slytherin nature.
I'll show those thugs what I'm made of! They should know already that I'm no pushover, but if they insist, I'll have to make them learn the hard way. I've already given them way too many chances. So now, I'll make them bow to my feet and beg for my forgiveness after I borrow a book or two from the Restricted Section of the Library.
Lauren knew that entering the Restricted Section of the Library was against the stupid Hogwarts School Rules. So what? She wasn't scared of detention. She'd gotten it a few times before already. What else could they do, expel her? Well, if she were expelled, at least she'd already have known restricted magic. And she could still harm her siblings.
She paced towards the door of the library's restricted section, then tensed. What if a librarian saw me? I won't even get a chance to open a good book about dark spells.
Dark.
The darker the better.
Maybe even the cruciatus curse, if she had a chance.
But I did indeed learn a few things or two from her youth. For instance, power without knowledge is nothing. And that knowledge was the most important thing in life... no, let me change it a little bit. Knowledge is the process, while power is the destination.
So I need to know. The safety rules shouldn't apply to me! What's so wrong about reading good books from the restricted section? These are rules for stupid one-year olds! I'm eleven! The rules are NOT there for a reason! It's just to annoy us first years and make us more responsible! But I'm not trying to become an ordinary person in the future. What Headmaster Solomon Lear thinks is best isn't for me. So I can go. This should be an exception. Everyone studying NEWTS can go to the restricted section simply when they like! So I will, too!
Cursing the rules under her breath, Lauren pulled out her wand from her Slytherin robe.
20,2 cm chestnut wood and dragon heartstring, a voice seemed to speak in her head. She gently polished her wand and brushed it against her fingers. Crap, now she had to clean her wand again. Her wand was always clean. No oil. Not a speck of dust.
A voice sounded in her head yet again.
With a clean wand, I'm not gonna mess up any spells, whatever the Hogwarts staff might think! I got straight O's in the first semester? Why can't I go into the restricted section?
Muttering, Lauren headed towards the door of the restricted section. Her wand pointed to the door, she racked her brain for spells that could counter the charm casted on the doors.
It's not my fault they didn't teach us! she thought, cursing the entirety of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in her mind.
