A Curious Little Girl Closed

Phoebe stepped eagerly into the greenhouse, very much aware that class was not in session, nor were there any detention hours being served. She knew very well that she was most likely not supposed to be there, but she felt a great need to take a look at the greenery.

Miss McCrary carefully explored the premises, intently studying the plants (from a safe distance, of course). She was in complete awe. She noticed how many plants were either vibrant in color or almost void of any pigment. She grinned.

Although she very much wanted to touch the plants and study them up close, she had no idea how toxic and dangerous they were, so, much to her dismay, she forced herself to stay away, firmly clasping her hands behind her back. She watched as some of the more peculiar plants moved. Some shied away from her, others attempted to nip at her. Either way, she enjoyed the experience.

She hadn't seen anything like this back in Scotland. The only plants she was able to get her hands on were more... domesticated. When you've seen these greenhouse wonders, you would understand that domesticated doesn't just mean crops.

Filled with pure and utter joy, she continued to study nature's beautiful creations.

The trees cry in autumn because their hearts are growing cold.
