Truth or dare

It was a warm afternoon in spring and Grace had decided to bring her ferret Bandit down to see the lake. Grace had debated with herself on whether or not to bring her messenger bag or backpack to carry Bandit in. In the end, she put her ferret in the deep pocket of her green army jacket. Bandit loved being able to see the world from her high and mighty post within Grace’s jacket.
Today, Grace had brought Bandit, her wand, and her field journal with her to the lake. Grace wanted to be a magizoologist when she graduated hogwarts, and she planned to observe the nature around the lake. Grace was very excited for 3rd year when she could take care of magical creatures at hogwarts. She wanted to be just like Newt Scamander.
Grace was also hoping there would be some students down by the lake today, final exams were in a few weeks and most of the students had spent almost all of their time studying. Grace was very smart, (though not entirely at the same level as Ravenclaws) but she needed a break. Since it was a Saturday afternoon, she had even taken a break from her uniform robes and had chosen to wear her jeans, army jacket and T-shirt.
When Grace got down by the lake, she saw that there were no students there, only dandelions growing tall in the grass, so Grace decided to make Bandit a flower crown from them.

When she finished her Transfiguration homework, Alex got quite surprised to be the first one from her group crossing out all the Saturday's to-dos. As none of her close friends was available at the moment, she decided to take a walk around the Great Lake, she never really had an opportunity to take a deep look at the giant squid that resided there. She even had an usual spot to read near the Lake, but the squid never showed up clearly. But before taking a look at the squid, she took a look at her clothes. What would she wear? A white shirt was fine, but the zone around the Lake was quite muddy, and Alex wasn't that good at washing clothes. But if.. yes, a bordeaux t-shirt and some large baggy denim pants seemed alright. The pants already had one scratch or two, so running and climbing wouldn't be such a problem.
Her intention was to go down the stairs running, but some groups of Hogwarts staff were constantly passing by her, a good impression was something that would might help Alex throughout her wizarding journey. Maybe they were in a free period?- wait, it was Saturday! Anyways, some jumps from around the fourth step still occured, as she wanted to have time wondering around her destiny and not just going up and down the staircase. She was already accustomed to them moving, so Alex didn't had problems going down (nor lately up).
It surprised her that there were a huge amount of students indoors but not outdoors. How strange! It was normal that nor fifth graders nor seventh graders were using their free time, but there was also a huge amount of first, second, third, fourth and sixth year students. The outside looked fine, warm and perfect to wonder. "Her" dandelion cloud was already occupied. Maybe she was nice. Alex approached the girl, probably a first year one. "Hi! Alex, and you? Are you looking for the squid or.." She noticed a dandelion crown on top of a ferret's head "oh, wow! So cute! Dedicating time for him, Uh?"

Truth or dare
Grace looked up to see a girl with reddish brown hair looking down at her.
“What?” She said, surprised. “Oh, I’m Grace, this is my ferret Bandit. She likes to come with me. Oh, I guess I’m looking for the squid, I’m mostly just obsevering the lake. You know I want to be a magizoologist when I grow up.”
Then Grace looked back down at Bandit. She seemed to be enjoying her flower crown. Grace loved dandelions though her parents constantly told her that dandelions were just weeds, but she thought they were like beautiful little buds of sunshine. Grace loved how many there were this time of year. Everywhere you saw grass it was just like patches of yellow and green.
Grace liked making new friends, but she also liked talking, A LOT. She had so much to say, but she didn’t want to make the wrong impression. Grace just had so many questions to ask. Alex had commented on Bandit, maybe she also had pets. It was a nice afternoon, and Grace wanted to get to know her new friend, maybe they could play a game? What about Truth or dare?
Grace looked around, trying to collect her thoughts before saying anything. Then she pet Bandit’s head, part of the whole reason she made the flower crown was because Bandit was always stealing Grace’s bracelets and wearing them like tiaras.
“Do have a pet? What do you want to be when you graduate hogwarts?” Grace asked. “Let’s play truth or dare!”

At first, it looked like the other girl didn't understood what she said, as a brief "What?" came out of her mouth. Her voice was clean and with a basic tone, not that girl with a shrill voice. But after all, the girl actually understood and presented both herself and her ferret, who was a female. "Oh, I’m Grace, this is my ferret Bandit. She likes to come with me. Oh, I guess I’m looking for the squid, I’m mostly just obsevering the lake. You know I want to be a magizoologist when I grow up." Alex didn't understood if the girl was really looking for the squid or not, but that didn't had importance at the moment, as she had lots to say. "Hi, Grace! I am Alex, yeah, just Alex for first name, not Alexa nor Alexandra: I know, quite... Rare; Also, Bandit is a lovely name, I wonder if you two have adventures together, I don't know why, but the name Bandit makes me think that she is adventurous. Ah... That's pretty it for now!"
This could easily be a beggining of a friendship, it won't be the first badger! The conditions between the girl and her pet intrigued Alex, it seemed to be very strong. It remembered her of Sol, her Nova Scotia Retriever at home. She missed him- the Christmas holiday seemed to be so long before! The dandelion crown was just gorgeus. She asked herself how to make it and... Yep, she knew it, after searching throught the corners of her mind. It wasn't very difficult and one time She made one for her sister, Lily. Maybe she could make one that day. She actually couldn't remember a ferret smiling that broadly, Grace was really talented, she'd succeed if she got into her desired career. And, to show their love even more, Grace petted Bandit with joy. How... Cute!
Do have a pet? What do you want to be when you graduate hogwarts? woah, two questions at a time, that was too much. Lol. She giggled about her thoughts. "Woah, well, I have a dog, Sol, but he's at home. I miss him. And about dream career? Well, too clichè, but maybe Auror or Quidditch player. But please do not get the impression that I am like the others, cause I'm not. Ha. Ha! Poor girl, Grace, the mystery that Alex kept in the atmosphere maybe was too much for a first meeting. Or Grace just didn't noticed what Alex was trying to do. With 'please do not get the impression that I am like the others, cause I'm not' She meant that she was far from the clichè, and that would get more evident few years later, when every girl would put makeup and wear skinny clothing on the top. Ugh. "Let’s play truth or dare!" Grace suggested Oh, yes, that seems fun! Who starts?

Truth or dare
Oh cool! Alex has a dog! Grace’s family has 2 cats (one black cat and one tabby) and a border collie named River and a German Shepard named Ace. When Grace was little dogs were her favorite thing. Since her dad wasn’t especially good at healing magic, her family took their pets to the muggle vet. For a while, Grace even wanted to a vet when she grew up, but when she read fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, and learned of Newt scamander the amazing magizoologist, she wanted to be just like him, which was a bit like a vet who also treated magical creatures.
Something that grace was especially interested in were the thestrals. Grace couldn’t see them, which she was told was due to the fact that she hadn’t seen anyone die. In that way she considered herself lucky. She had had family who’ve passed away, and for the most part she had gotten to say goodbye and tell them she loves them, but she hasn’t actually seen it. Death grace tries not to dwell, but it puzzles her, how someone can be alive and breathing one moment and gone the next.
Grace was disturbed from her thoughts from Alex’s question.
