The son of spring lay in wake, the quiescence of time crawling further and further away as his troubled mind churned in restlessness long unsolicited. The rhythmic respiration of the young songbird's nest mates served little comfort to him amongst the endless emptiness that clawed its way towards him. Gradually, the silence grew near deafening and he, the pretty youth, placed his bare feet down against the cold, unwelcoming ground. His departure abandoned all thoughts unborn and only soul guide him in his walk.

Soundless were the halls where he walked and in turn, soundless were the echoes of his steps. Many stairs did he climb, many corridors did he walk and none noticed by his fragile mind. His wary consciousness lingering somewhere in between the dawn of day and the last gasps of moonlight.

The Sun let his heart and his soul guide him as he made way to the highest peak of the mountain. His lost soul longed to escape. It longed for freedom. Worries he would have none, and thoughts none the lesser. He wished to fly. To grow wings and leap. To lose himself in the skies and seven seas of stars. Entering the room of wishes, tallest of all, a faint gasp escaped his lips. It was beautiful. Like none he'd ever seen like none he ever would see to better it.

The lady on the moon gazed down upon the earth below her, watching and dreaming. What make you here, unhappy youth? The Stars asked the Sun. The Sun replied. What a world is this, when what is comely envenoms him that bears it?

A quiet chatter circled the room but he didn't take care to it, their faces were blurred anyhow, he couldn't recognise. Hypnotised, he wandered to the centre of the room, and lay down to watch and to wait. Enchanted were his eyes to forever gaze upon the sky.

He felt minuscule compared to the unknown that stretched above him. He was but a sailor on a paper boat navigating the oceans of stars and symbols. He had never felt so small, so meaningless. No voice could save him from his state of mind.

I have no news. I live quietly. I love you and I wait
