When you first meet Sebastien, your initial impression is likely that he is mysterious and eerie. There is something unsettling about his appearance, a feature you cannot quite identify, which seems to conceal the deepest, darkest secrets of the world. His dark hazel eyes seem to read whoever he looks at; they notice the twitch of an eyelid, the bite of a cheek, the gulp of saliva down |
someone’s throat. His eyes alone are like hawks – careful, watchful. He has dark, upturned brows that make his face even more intimidating whenever he stares. His thin lips are small and resemble a little heart at the bottom of his face. They crack easily in the cold and gain a reddish flush in contrasting temperatures. His front teeth are slightly longer, giving him a mouse-like appearance when he smiles. He has a rather long face that perfectly encapsulates his emotionless, stoic expression, revealing almost nothing to the casual observer. Sebastien has medium-length, wavy, light auburn hair that, when caught by the light, can appear strawberry blonde. It frames his face in spiraling, wavy strands. He is rather tall and slim, holding himself with a certain gentleness that, even beneath his cold facade, can bring comfort to those he chooses.
Sebastien is quiet, not someone who stands out. He would much rather watch events unfold from the corners of the world than be at the center of the action, though that does not mean he avoids interfering. Control is one of the most important things in his life. He dislikes losing it, not knowing what will come next, or not being above the situation – knowing a solution for it. |

That makes him feel unsafe, as if he is not truly alive, just a ragdoll controlled by others. To truly feel like himself, he needs control. He is not much of a talker; he pulls strings and makes moves on the chessboard from afar or in secret. He does not trust people much, which makes it hard for him to get close to anyone. He sees everything as a ticking time bomb, about to go off, and he knows when it does, it will not be pretty. In his world, as he perceives others, everyone acts for their own benefit, and so does he, as do his parents, which is probably where his worldview comes from. Therefore, he keeps to himself – quiet and watchful, a calculated predator waiting for the right moment to strike.

Sebastien was born into a pureblood family in London on December 17, 2013. Both his mother and father were politicians working at the Ministry of Magic; his father was an administrative staff member of the Wizengamot parliament, handling documentation of court cases and legal processes, while his mother worked in International Magical Cooperation, overseeing foreign magical bodies. |
As they were both very busy, after Mrs. Knox’s maternity leave ended, Sebastien was sent to Oxford to live with his paternal grandparents and great-grandmother. His grandparents and great-grandmother taught him everything he knew about magic and more. In their time, they had been well-recognised pillars of the wizarding community, especially in Oxford, and were highly educated in all aspects of magic. They taught the boy everything, from everyday manners to the history and lineage of their family. From a young age, he was a knowledgeable and sophisticated individual. However, because Sebastien was responsible for helping his grandparents, especially taking care of his great-grandmother, who was often unwell and bedridden, he was very isolated from other children his age and did not have any friends. He would often open his bedroom window and look down at the streets below, particularly at the horse riding center next to their house, watching children his age ride horses, laugh, and have fun. The sounds of people contrasted with his everyday life of peace and quiet in his grandparents’ house, and as much as he hated to admit it, sometimes he craved that unapologetically childish connection that other children his age enjoyed. He spent his time visiting the Oxford library with his grandfather, who had taught him everything about his passion – literature. Although his grandfather introduced Sebastien only to wizarding literature and authors, given his pride in his pureblood lineage, the boy secretly read Muggle literature as well, borrowing books by renowned Muggle authors from the Oxford library in secret.
One day, when Sebastien was six years old, he felt lonely. Earlier that morning, he had rushed to serve his great-grandmother breakfast in bed because his grandfather had promised to take him to the horse races that day. He was very excited and accidentally spilled hot tea all over his great-grandmother’s sheets. His grandfather, enraged by his grandson’s clumsiness, |

refused to go to the races. Sebastien was ordered to spend the whole day cleaning the bed by himself, and tea was served to him after lunch, once all the seniors in the house had eaten, for him to drink alone. It was, as always, eerily quiet. He was drinking tea at the dinner table, sniffling quietly in guilt and sadness, when, to his surprise, the toy bunny beside him picked up its teacup and took a sip from the empty cup. He was stunned, but as the bunny’s beaded brown eyes gazed at him with kindness, he gave in, and that little spark of magic brightened his sad and lonely day.
