It was a pleasant April evening today. Perfect to hang around the courtyard after class. Fawkes had carried some parchment, writing materials, books and notes with her to do homework. Specifically, Defence Against the Dark Arts.

Fawkes had taken a liking towards DADA. It was probably her second favourite subject, after Astronomy of course. Though perhaps that was to be expected considering her mother was an Auror. Had she gone through the stash of books related to DADA in her house? Yes. She had even taken a few of her mother's training books at one point when she was bored.

She found a nice corner of the courtyard to sit at, carefully laying out her materials. She also made sure to put down paper weights for her parchment since while it wasn't windy at the moment, there was no telling whether it would pick up later or not. There was no chance she was risking it however, she didn't want the ink on her homework to smudge.

And so she began her homework, carefully writing out the words. It was a peaceful task. That was until she saw a shadow falling onto her parchment that wasn't hers. She looked up from her work to see a Hufflepuff boy standing in front of her.
