The wand chooses the WIZARD! (or in this case the nerd...)
Ethan had waited a long time for this. As he walked into the shop his nose was assaulted with the smell of wood. A small bell rang as the door closed behind him and a tall man with silver hair and many wrinkles approached him from behind a large shelf. His heart beat. He did not know whether or not his father's good friend would recognise him, he had not seen him since his father, Ollivander's mentee had died. "Hello Ethan, I have been expecting you. Ethan was surprised. He was pretty sure Garrick told that to everyone in his shop, but the way he looked at him made Ethan think otherwise. "Shall we find your wand?" Ethan nodded, and a tape measurer came over and measured everything on his body. Perhaps a Hornbeam... 14 inches, dragon heartstring with brittle flexibility... Ethan took the wand, flicked it, and a plant by the window exploded. "No... Ethan simply waited. "Ah yes! This is definitely it!" "What is it sir?" Ethan asked. Walnut with unicorn hair, 13 and a quarter inches, pliant." Ethan took the wand. He flicked it, and it floated in the air. But... But... I... That was certainly it! Ollivander looked dumbfounded. He then walked to the back of the store, holding a dusty box. "Your father wanted to be a wandmaker, you know. He was talented and intelligent. I was going to hire him as my assistant when he... He made a wand once. I did not think it would find use." Ethan stood in stunned silence. His dad, a wandmaker? But he was such a celebrated and impressive auror. Ollivander lowered the box into his hands, and Ethan noticed it had the Young family crest on it. Ethan took the wand out. It was ornately carved with bulbs, and an easy grip. He felt it, and realized how light and smooth it was. He waved it, and the entire room was basked in a light blue glow. The plants became taller, Ollivander stood taller, as if the wand has restored some of his youth. He smiled. Ethan stood still. His wand was made by his father. But he felt sad too. Would his father have been a wandmaker with Ollivander? He had never felt so enraged at the man who had killed his dad.
