Food at the first feast solo

Date: 1st September
In the Great Hall

Lilly let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding. Her mouth turned upwards, a smile radiating throughout her face. The Hufflepuff table was clapping as she walked towards them. “Hi” Lilly said, smiling as she sat next to someone. They smiled back as they reached to the nearest plate. There’s so much food! Lilly exclaimed, letting out a small laugh as she took in how absurd the amount of food was. She leaned to grab a vegetarian pie, then poured hot gravy over it and served herself some peas and carrots. She studied the rest of the food options before taking a Yorkshire pudding which had a perfect crispy outside, and a scoop full of the fluffiest mashed potatoes she had ever seen.

She had asked her parents about the food years before she came to Hogwarts, and they had said it was the most amazing food they’d had in a long time, but their descriptions didn’t come close to what her tastebuds were telling her. The food was seasoned perfectly, and they were many vegetarian options, which was something she had been worried about.

After the main meal, the plates disappeared and new mountains of food rose up, piles of ice cream and eclairs and every pudding she knew appeared before her. Lilly didn’t know where to begin. After choosing to have some ice cream, she spooned a scoop of vanilla ice cream and another of mango sorbet into her bowl. She didn’t want to overdo it on the first day, and she had seven years to try everything right? The trifle would just have to wait until another day!
