Dialogues - Amalie
Dialogues - Mr. Ollivander
Amalie was finally getting her very own wand.

Papa had told her to enter Ollivanders alone, as the experience of being chosen by a wand is personal and unforgettable, therefore not to be hampered by external presence.

As Amalie pushed open the door, a bell tinkled somewhere within the depths of the shop.

"Welcome, my dear. Come for your first wand have you?" said the gentle voice of a man at the counter. This must be Mr. Ollivander.

"Hello Mr. Ollivander. I'm Amalie, and yes, I've come to purchase my wand," she said, looking around the store. It was rather dimly lit, with shelves stretching up to the ceiling, stacked with what Amalie guessed were wand boxes.

"Come on, Amalie. Let's see, hmm, try this," said Mr. Ollivander, taking a box not too high and handing her the wand.

Amalie took it and twirled it. The wand immediately jumped out of her hand and zoomed to the other end of the store.

"Whoops. Here, how about this?" he said, giving a wand from a lower shelf.

Amalie tried twirling that wand, but there was no result. She tried again, with the same outcome.

"No no, not that either. Not to worry; remember, the wand chooses the wizard, or I should say witch, not the other way round," saying this, Mr. Ollivander used his wand to summon a box from the highest shelf.

Amalie twirled this wand and it glowed at the tip. She smiled, a satisfied, unmistakably pleased tug at her lips.

"YES, this is the one for you, my Amalie. Mhmm let's see 30,5 cm cherry wood and thestral tail hair. An interesting and very rare combination. It is not often that Westerners are chosen by the sacred Japanese wood. And that too paired with a thestral tail hair," said Mr. Ollivander

Amalie listened to all this quietly, tilting her head and taking the information in.

Mr. Ollivander wrapped up the wand in a box and handed it to her, naming the price, "Take good care of it. It is indeed a rare wand for - I can see - an equally rare witch."

Amalie smiled at him and handed over the money, "I will, Mr. Ollivander. Thank you."

She walked out of Ollivanders, holding her wand tight to herself, to find her parents at Flourish and Blotts, where they said they would be.
