Campion. Was. Livid.

Those blasted pygmy puffs were clearly in their seasonal molt, and the little devils were leaving it absolutely everywhere. In the classrooms, in Campion's bed, on the grounds. He could do nothing to escape the balls of molted fluff. While he didn't mind the creatures themselves, Campion did not remotely appreciate their molting season. He couldn't enjoy a walk on the grounds without some fluff getting into his nose. Gratefully, he didn't seem to be allergic, unlike others he had seen around school.

So, Campion decided to take it upon himself to help clean up the mess that the pygmy puffs were causing. He set out to the grounds almost immediately after finishing his dinner, equipped with the largest bag he could find, none of his being enchanted. He started on his hands and knees, picking up pile after pile and condensing it at the bottom of the bag. Despite not being enchanted, the collapsible nature of the fluff made it rather easy to collect a lot of it into one place. Campion wagered he could pick up enough to make several pygmy puff fluff balls, if he felt so inclined. Perhaps he could send one to his brother Ash, who had only ever seen a pygmy puff at the pet store in Diagon Alley.

However, several minutes later and the sky growing only darker, Campion wondered exactly how much he could pick up and get into the bag with the levitation charm he'd learned in Charms class. Campion stood up and brushed his knees where they were getting dirty. He arranged the bag so that it was as widely open as possible, and drew his wand from his pocket.

Campion pointed his wand at a pile of fluff that otherwise would have taken maybe two handfuls to gather, one in each hand. "Wingardium Leviosa!" he said, and the small pile of fluff rose into the air. He laughed gleefully as he drew it over to the bag, setting the pile of fluff down onto the fluff in the bag.

That made the task much more interesting, and much more fun.

So, Campion began strolling the grounds. Every time he came upon a bit of pgymy puff fluff, he used the levitation charm to draw it into the bag. With every few deposits, so to speak, Campion compressed it all down in the bag to permit more filling.

It was maybe half an hour before he got bored of that, and decided maybe he wanted to set the fluff on fire. Not knowing any charms to do so off the top of his head, that idea was unfortunately dismissed rather quickly. He reverted to his original technique of getting on his hands and knees, but that was almost immediately deemed inefficient.

Back to levitating, it was.

After a little bit more of the task, with it growing more and more tedious, Campion saw some fluff stuck up in a tree. How it got there was anyone's guess. Perhaps someone threw a pygmy puff up there and happened to leave a gift to the tree. He did hear the little creatures were rather amicable to being tossed, though he'd never tried it himself. Instead of using the levitation charm like he might have been able to do, Campion opted to climb the tree. He shed his cloak, leaving it next to his bag in a disheveled lump on the grass.

Scurrying up trees was a childhood skill of his, and he made quick work of it despite the tree not having any low-hanging branches. He was something of a climber, and made it to the branch with fluff stuck to it with ease. Campion snatched the fluff, stuck it in his pocket, and scaled down the tree. He promptly stuffed it into his bag, which was growing quite full. That was enough for a day, he figured. Now, where to dump all this fluff?
