Ophelia was having a quite normal day until now. Today was probably a little too normal, which would've been a red flag on her side. Usually, there was something interesting happening either to her or to others. In case of the latter, she'd just enjoy the mayhem. Today, there was nothing. Just peace and quiet, not that Ophelia would ever complain.

Walking alone along the corridors on the second floor of Hogwarts Castle, she heard someone talking. Two people, perhaps. She recognized one of the voices, but couldn't exactly remember who it belonged to; the other one, she'd never heard before.

She was thankful that it was a Sunday, since she had spent some time with her friends before they separated to go to their own common rooms, and there was no need to wear her uniform. She felt relaxed in today's outfit, and, had she not been tired, she would have liked to go outside now and lie down on the cool grass. The downside of that was that her shirt was white, so she had to keep her jacket on in order for it not to get dirty.

She wasn't going to the grounds or to the courtyard now anyway, so there was no need to worry about her clothes getting dirty. As she took a turn to the right, she collided with someone. Who it was, she didn't know until she looked up.

Caspian Villin.

𝔏eaning one shoulder against the cold stone wall of the second floor corridor, Caspian listened with half lidded attention as his friend spoke to him, his gaze drifting lazily toward the tall windows where bright light spilled across the floor like melted gold. Their heads were bent down, voices lowered, which was not needed considering the corrider was mostly empty.

His friend was doing most of the talking, stitching together opinions about a girl they had seen in the charms class. Assumptions followed as they spoke, naturally, and Caspian added only in brief responses, not fully agreeing nor disagreeing. Not everything said about her was fair, and Caspian felt a little bit of guilt making its way through him. He should've shut it down earlier, partly out of indifference, but it had gotten interesting, and he was now fully invested in it.

Caspian was about to let it drop entirely when footsteps echoed around the corner. He didn't pay any mind to it, not until they collided. He stumbled back a bit, before finding his footing again. He looked down at her, recognizing her instantly as Ophelia. He had seen the first year earlier at the start of the year, during the sorting ceromony.

“You could’ve watched where you were going.” He told her, his brows furrowing as he took in the expression on her face. She looked upset, and more suprisingly...upset at him. That didn’t fit. Why would she be upset with him? He hadn't done anything wrong that could have produced that reaction, had he? She could have been upset with the collision, since that seemed like the most obvious reason. "You do know that had been entirely your fault, right?" He told her. "You walked into me, so I’m not sure what part of that warrants the expression" His friend shifted uncomfortably beside him, before eventually bolting. Traitor.

Why is he frowning at me? For one thing, it was Ophelia who should've been frowning at Caspian, not the other way around. Maybe there was a reason for this overly normal day, which she just thought about; if she had appreciated it, she wouldn't have collided with this... boy, after all.

Ophelia couldn't even describe what she felt about the Slytherin. She'd heard him talking about her friend just now, and what she had heard was not delightful. She'd also heard that he was talking behind the same friend's back from some of her acquaintances, and for some reason, that was the start of her disliking the person she'd never met in her life. Well, until now.

Mentally, she took a deep breath and apologized, not even half-heartedly. Were it anyone else, she would've meant the apology, but, as already stated, she didn't like the boy, and now even more so since he was acting like the collision was her fault. It wasn't her problem that he'd stood there with his friend, who'd left him alone, now, for some reason, like literal statues.

"For the record, it wasn't my fault. You were standing there like a statue," there was an unnecessary emphasis on the 'you'. Ophelia, on the contrary, thought about not having emphasised it enough. "Seems like your friend abandoned you here, huh?" She added, holding herself back from saying that the friend had been standing just as equally like a statue as Caspian was; she didn't, though, because her beef was with Caspian, not his friend.
