Amalie wasn't the sort of person who was easily excited. But today, she was nearly bouncing out of her boots.

Finally. Hogwarts!

Today was the day.

Platform 9¾ was no new place to Amalie. She had been here many times before, sending off and picking up Adrian. But this time it was different. Because today, it was her turn. Her turn to run through the wall with the trolley, her turn to board the magnificent Hogwarts Express, her turn to finally, finally go to Hogwarts.

Mama lifted her hand off Amalie's shoulder, saying "Go on, I know you're itching to."

Amalie grinned at her parents, nodded and broke into a run. As she neared the wall, she closed her eyes, bracing instinctively-

...and then she was through. Passing through the wall had felt like walking through a bubble, making her skin tingle.

That was amazing! Her eyes opened to a world of colour and noise .The chatter of voices filled the air, and the terminal was crowded with people, trunks and the occasional pet or two. Her parents joined her a moment later, and together they made their way along the platform.

When they reached her carriage, Amalie briefly hesitated. She had never been away from her parents. Wishing Adrian was here, she swallowed hard and turned to them.

"Well, see you then, ma chère my dear. Write to us and don't stay up reading all night," said Mama, pressing a kiss to her head.

Amalie smiled and turned to her papa. She put her arms around him, hugging him tightly.

"Stay safe. I know you'll do well. Au revoir Goodbye," he said with a steady smile.

She pulled back and looked at her parents for one last time, "Au revoir mama, Adieu papa." Goodbye Mother, Farewell Father.

She took hold of her trunk, and climbed aboard the Hogwarts Express. She waved to her parents from the window, before going in to find a seat.
