Usually, when Vales was bored, she went down to the library, reading and reading until her eyes hurt and books were scattered all around the young Ravenclaw. But today was not one of those days. Somehow, Vales was tired of reading, and even more tired of lessons. The young girl hadn't slept well for days, insomnia getting the better of her, and Vales was looking for an activity to calm her down. So, that morning she had grabbed a notebook out of her trunk, and headed to the Great Lake. Vales had heard that magical creatures swim beneath the surface, but today, not even a ripple fell across the dark waters of the lake.

Vales was seated, cross legged, on the grass nearby, pencil carefully tracing along the pencil as she drew the scene in front of her. She wasn't the best artist, no no no, not by a long shot, but was slowly working on it, capturing the shadows by the trees as best she could before moving on to the sun. Drawing was strangely calming to her, and Vales found herself wondering why she hadn't ever tried it before. Her classes had been strangely stressful, new subjects being tossed at her left and right, and honestly, Vales needed some downtime. Vales had never felt anything like that, always being one to ask to learn new topics or ideas, and this feeling had surprised her! However, sitting here, feeling the breeze lightly sift through her thick hair was exactly what she needed.

Miko was headed for the Great Lake to take a break from school and kept walking there. All of a sudden a figure appeared near the lake and he stopped in front of her. Wow, she is pretty cute heh.... he thought and looked at the ground trying not to think about it. "Hey, miss. I am er Liko Mimof. I mean Likof Mimo. I mean Mikof Limo." Oh jeez, he just kept messing up. Finally he slapped himself in the face and said it right. Clearing his throat he tried hard to say it correctly, "...I meant Miko Limof, but close enough right heh..." the boy laughed nervously and sat.

The Hufflepuff sighed in embarrassment and asked about her name. "I feel like I've seen you somewhere, hm." he stroked his chin and though aloud. "Welp I've already forgotten so that blows." He carved a few shaped into the dirt and looked around and finally fixed his eyes on the girl. Quickly, he looked away to not seem like a creepy lad which he probably was. FAIL ALERT FAIL ALERT was what was going on in his mind. Hopefully Miko hadn't messed up yet another encounter with a stranger.

Vales looked up sharply, seeing a boy around her age, talking to her. He stumbled over his words, and she let out a chuckle. Vales tended to do that when she was nervous, so she related, and instead pasted a kind smile on her face.
"I'm Vales..Vales Minter. It's very nice to meet you!" She said, putting her pencil down in her notebook so she could pay full attention to Miko. She noticed he had an accent, well, a different accent than her. Scottish maybe? It sounded like that.

He sat down next to her, and Vales fought back a blush. She was never quite good with people being close to her, especially a boy! He said that he had remembered her from somewhere, and immediately, an event came into her head. The LGBT+ Club. Vales didn't mention it, of course, not knowing if the club was a sore subject for the boy, as it was for her.
"Yeah, I feel like I remember you too, although I don't know from where!" Vales said, lying at the last part.
A strong breeze came through the air, sending Vales's long hair RIGHT into Miko's face.
"Sorry!" She exclaimed, putting her hands over her head, and she looked at Miko, embarrassed.

Miko was listening to her with undivided attention until her hair hit him square in the face. He even had some in his mouth and it tasted like soap. Quickly, he swept it put of his face and mouth and laughed. "It's Alright! I do apologize for getting my saliva on your hair." the boy chuckled. Vales, that's a pretty name. Unique as well. he imagined her name with different letters in the front.

The lad gently pulled his dark hair back and his eyes glistend in the lighting. "You've got a rather beautiful name if I do say so myself." Miko complimented Vales' name to see how she'd react to it. A blush maybe or possibly just a plain thank you? I wonder if I can make her blush! the young boy pondered to himself. He looked around and just plain thought what a beautiful day it was. Then he remembered when he was tripping over his OWN NAME and he cringed. Oh what a disappointing memory that was, how do you constantly mess up your own bloody name?! Vales probably didn't mind, maybe it wasn't that big of a deal. Well for him especially it was but she seemed like a nice girl so maybe she wouldn't care.

When Miko finally said it was alright, Vales pulled her hands away from her head. She was quite embarrassed, but they both had done embarrassing things in the past few minutes, so there was no use in freaking out over it now. She reached her hand up, smoothing her hair before lightly tucking it behind her ears. It wouldn't stay there for long because the wind was so active today, but it would hold for a little while, at least until she fished out an elastic band that was in her pockets, quickly gathering her hair and putting it onto a high ponytail. Vales really didn't want that to happen again, and this seemed like the easiest way to stop it.

Miko was still talking throughout all of this, and she listened in carefully, although when Miko complemented her name, Vales's cheeks starting to turn red. She quickly looked down, away from Miko, hoping that the boy didn't notice.
"Um..Thanks. Your...your name is really nice too!" She stuttered. It was true, Miko was a unique name, and the Ravenclaw didn't think she had ever heard it before, even in any of the books she has read before. Dying to get the conversation away from complements, which Vales sucked at recieving, she hastily asked another question,
"You're in Hufflepuff, right?"

"Er, yeah. How'd you know?" Miko asked. Boom, he got he to blush. He should start a class called Girls 101 and should help other boys sweet talk estrogen filled humans. Yeah, probably not going to happen, he'll keep his secrets to himself.

The boy guessed the tie kind of gave it away and his uniform or maybe it was from the um...uh thing he can't remember. Then again sometimes you can just tell somebody's house by their behavior, but only sometimes. It was probably the things he said that made him seem like a Hufflepuff, pinball honesty he wanted to be either Gryffindor or Ravenclaw like his family but things don't always turnout as planned.

Miko looked at Vales and her clothes and asked if she was a Ravenclaw. "And you are a....Ravenclaw, correct?" Obviously he was just asking to break the silence, her clothing had a Ravenclaw crest on it. Silence always made Miko nervous and tense so usually he just asked a random question to break the silence, especially of it was an awkward kind of silence which was by far the worst. He could handle it while he was busy but if it was just talking the silence was unbearable.

Vales smiled at Miko, trying to hide the light blush covering her cheeks. He was wearing a hufflepuff tie, so Vales had immediately assumed that he was in hufflepuff.
"Um...your tie, I guess!" She said, twirling her finger around her hair, as she usually did her when she was nervous or anxious, so basically Vales twirled her finger around her hair for hours a day. Miko also acted like she assumed a Hufflepuff would act.
Her pa always said that she would be a Hufflepuff, although her dad would always argue, saying that she was too witty and intellectual too ignore Ravenclaw as a possible house. When she had sent a letter home telling her dads what house she had gotten into, her dad apparently teased pa for days!
"Yeah! I'm a Ravenclaw, although my dads had a bet going that I would be in Hufflepuff!" She said, giving a small chuckle at the end. Then, the girl, realizing what she just said, bit her lip as she waited for Miko's response. Telling people she had two dads was always a stressful experience for Vales. Wizards and witches could be quite judgemental, and honestly, Vales didn't know why she had blurted it out. Miko seemed to be quite nice (and quite cute), so Vales hoped he wouldn't freak out or anything like that.

Miko listened thoughtfully to what she was saying. She seemed like she'd be a great Hufflepuff and a Ravenclaw, so it wasn't a surprise that her dads had a bet about it. Wait, dads. As in, multiple father figures in one household. Finally, something he wasn't alone on, on a more personal level. He too had two fathers, one named Leo and the other named Alexander. He decided to speak up about this similarity between the two.

"Mhm, I see. So you have two fathers as well?" The Hufflepuff smiled and looked at Vales, in a kind gesture. Not often do you find another person with two dads, or anyone at all. It was a nice topic they maybe could bond over and mingle about. Minter seemed like an interesting person enough to engage with, so why not. Besides, what did he have to lose? His dignity? He lost that years ago already.

The young boy smiled and looked at the ground, picking at the flowers. It was not a very cold day today compared to all the other school days. He was thinking about Hogwarts in general and if Vales was a Hufflepuff, in fact, he wouldn't be surprised if she was one. Speaking of which, "Yeah, my dads and brother both thought I would be a Gryffindor or a Ravenclaw!"
