All's Not Quiet in my Head
Hogwarts was magnificent. Unlike anything I had imagined or was capable of imagining. I had no words to describe how magical this place felt (literally). The place was humongous, bigger than the Scottish castles with large drawbridges I'd seen. It seemed quite drafty as well. Yet, to me it felt warm and cozy.... like home.
As we walked across the halls, the only sound I could hear were our footsteps and breathing. Everyone seemed like a bundle of nerves, not a sound escaped them. Yet the same couldn't be said for my mind. It was running wild. Wild with the curiosity to know which house I'd belong to, the impatient feeling in my gut, the eagerness to start the school year, and the nerves that my face had been hiding for so long. I walked in await for what was to come... the unknown.
The walk to the great hall felt achingly long, I could practically groan. With each step I felt hours pass. It felt like there was a tiny clock in my head that kept ticking. Atlast we reached the huge doors of the hall with small intrinsic designs on the frames, it looked like the mahogany doors at my home, only much, much bigger.
The boy standing in front of me was dripping with water. He had fallen of the boat into the lake on our way to hogwarts. But it looked like he didn't care about his wet robes, he seemed otherwise preoccupied with his thoughts. The professor standing at the door quickly dried him off with a gust of wind from her wand.
As the doors opened we entered into The Great Hall. Unlike us 1st yrs, it was not quiet at all. Everyone was busy in their talks, hardly a few students looked our way. Moreover, they all seemed like a big happy family, one I couldn't wait to be a part of.
