Yawn! Why couldn't the weekend be longer? If given the choice she would spend all day everyday laying around reading, eating sweets and procrastinating. Realistically, she would probably go off to mess around with others of even do homework. Though she was extremely lazy at times, she couldn't really sit still for more than a few hours.
She slumped onto one of the long benches at the Slytherin table, mondays were her least favourite day of the week. The whole week lay ahead of her. Five full days worth of lessons. Most of them weren't even fun. Who actually cared about what some wizard did 500 years ago? It's not like it affected them much today. The one thing that she was looking forward to was Charms. She had always favoured potions and charms to the other subjects because you could actually learn things that could apply to everyday life.
Ouch! she cried out, almost choking on her glass of pumpkin juice. A small pink envelope fell onto her plate. She didn't usually get much mail. She'd written more often to her parents at the beginning of the year but she hadn't really seen the need to anymore. It wasn't like anything particularly exciting was going on anyway.
She peeled open the seal before pulling out a crisp letter. Oh, it was from Rosalyn! What a pleasant surprise. They hadn't talked in a while, perhaps she wanted to meet up again. She read on.
It was an invitation to her birthday party.
Why not go? she didn't have anything else to do and she wasn't about to ditch somebody's BIRTHDAY. She hurriedly finished off her waffles before heading back to her dorm to grab the last few things before class.
