This wasn’t Lenthe’s first time in Diagon Alley, but since she hadn’t been here very often, and never been allowed to linger, it felt like it was.
All throughout the afternoon, Lenthe could barely contain her excitement as she visited different shops with her mother, systematically going through her first-year supply list and buying everything that they didn’t still have from her siblings’ first year. Whenever they weren’t inside one of the crowded shops, Lenthe amused herself by looking through the windows of the more eccentric buildings they walked past. The streets were packed and Lenthe was bursting with energy. Her mother was more reserved than normal, and Lenthe guessed that she might be thinking about the prospect of all three of her children leaving for Hogwarts.
Then she saw something in particular that interested her: A small ball-shaped object that changed colour every few seconds. The girl jumped up and down, begging her mother to buy it for her, but her mother sternly refused.
"Vergeet niet waarvoor we hier zijn, hè, Lenthe."Don’t forget what we’re here for, Lenthe.
"Ja ja, om schoolspullen te kopen,"I know I know. To buy school supplies Lenthe answered with a serious face, one that she could never hold for long.
Now, the second most exciting thing today, the first one having been the purchase of her very own wand, was coming up. They were visiting the bookstore last, and her mother had promised that apart from her textbooks she could choose one book, any book she liked, and she would buy it for her.
Of course I should buy a book that will last me a long time, Lenthe thought as they stepped inside.

After a few hours of wandering around Diagon Alley, Corra just had to buy her book and wand, and then her trip to Diagon Alley was over. It was a long journey. Corra had no idea it would take her this long to purchase the items on the supply list. Her mother was tired from accompanying her, so she took a break to buy ice cream for Corra. Long story short, Corra will buy the books alone.
Corra had a little trouble finding the book she was looking for. The books were scattered, one book was at the top of the shelf, another book was 3 shelves away, and her attention was diverted to look at other books that were not on the list. Also Flourish and Blotts was filled with people who seemed to be buying books from their supply list, too. From first year to seventh year, some are accompanied by their parents or friends, while some buy the books alone. Book of spells, Magical Theory, oh my god. Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them? I love this book! Corra thought as she remembered when her cousin bought the book a year ago and Corra tried to read it; the best choice Corra could possibly make.
…five, six, seven. I think that's all. Corra checked her wallet to see how much money she had. It's okay if I buy a few more books, right? So Corra went around the bookstore to buy some books that caught her eye. After queuing to pay for the books (which took a while because the shop was small and crowded), Corra finally sets out to find her mother. At least that's what she thought. Since she had quite a lot of books with her, Corra had some difficulty walking and seeing what was in front of her.
And suddenly, Corra's feet tripped and she fell to the ground with a loud CRASH! near the entrance, the books she bought were scattered around.

The inside of the bookstore was as crowded as the street outside. Wizards and witches, young and old, some in groups and some on their own, were browsing the narrow aisles filled to the brim with books while chatting amongst themselves. Some of them appeared to be first year students like Lenthe herself. She wondered about which Hogwarts houses these students might end up in.
Any one of these children could be a future friend, rival, or even an enemy..., she thought. If I observe them right now, I have an advantage over them.
Feeling rather smart about herself, though she was really only half serious, Lenthe studied a boy with light curly hair and a freckled nose. He had his arms full of books and was accompanied by a man, assumingly his father.
I bet he’s a ravenclaw. Or perhaps a slytherin if he’s as sly as he looks. She tapped her mother on the shoulder to ask her what she thought, but her mother only warned her that it’s rude to stare.
Both Lenthe and her mother were starting to get tired, and they decided to go through the remainder of the supply list as quickly as possible before they would begin looking for the book she was promised.
Despite the shop being quite organized underneath it’s chaotic appearance, it wasn't easy to find everything. While they made their way along the shelves, Lenthe kept bumping into people. Her annoyance grew with each person who stood in her way. Does no one in this store have any spatial awareness?
But eventually there was just one book left on the list: A History of Magic by Bathilda Bagshot. According to Lenthe’s mother, this book was to be found near the entrance, and she told her daughter to go look over there. As Lenthe was reading the spines on a shelf next to the doors, a sudden noise startled her. She turned around to find a girl around her age lying on the floor, books scattered all around her.
“Oh gosh,” Lenthe gasped, as she rushed over to the girl. “Are you alright?” She noticed Magical Theory lying on the floor next to her, a book she recognized from her own list.

Corra could feel her chin hit the floor so hard, her teeth clattering and aching. She closed her eyes while groaning in pain.
Uh oh, did I bump into someone when I fell? Where are my books?
Corra slowly opened her eyes and found that the attention of all the shop visitors was on her. Oh crap. She thought. The pain wasn't that bad, but the embarrassment made Corra want the shop floor to suddenly swallow her up. But it's okay, she just needs to stand up, pick up her scattered books, then leave and hope no one remembers the incident.
“Oh gosh, are you alright?”
Corra heard the voice of a girl her age approaching. Uh oh, I have to get up soon or she'll think something's wrong with me. Even though it was difficult (and embarrassing of course), Corra lifted her body and sat up slowly. “I'm fine, thank you for worrying about me,” she said with a nervous smile.
Corra started by collecting the books that had fallen near her one by one. This wouldn't have happened if Corra had just bought the school books, or had called her mother to help her carry the books she wanted to buy. Or if Corra hadn't bought five extra books? She brought 12 large, heavy books and hoped to walk normally??? "Ah, it seems my books are scattered around," She muttered as she crawled to reach the book that was a bit far away.
