Skylar walks towards the corridors of Hogwarts with a determined expression. She had chosen to wear a t-shirt with a pair of shorts, and her normally loose hair was tied up in a pony tail. In her hands were a pair of gloves and a large plastic bag. A mask also covers half of Skylar's face, leaving the purposeful glint in her eyes the only thing visible.
Earlier in the week, Skylar had saw an announcement from her charms professor. Professor Kitty has been suffering from severe allergies since the start of April, and the culprits of this crime happen to be the one and only pygmy puffs. Pygmy puffs were shedding their winter coats all around the castle, covering every surface with pink and purple fluff. So, on this free Saturday that Skylar has, she decides to participate in what the professor has called a "Spring De-Fluffing."
Pushing open the large wooden door, Skylar cannot help but widen her eyes in shock at the sight. The stone floors and walls had fluff stuck in every crevice, pink and purple decorate the halls. Good Merlin, no wonder the little creatures are called 'puffs.' Skylar is certain that they are most likely ninety-percent puff and ten-percent pygmy.
She gently shuts the door behind her and walks into corridor. The fluff flows around her from the sudden gust of wind, flying up and then settling back down to the ground again. Every step she took causes a cloud of pink or purple to appear, tickling her legs. Skylar was suddenly immensely grateful for the mask on her face. She would no doubt have inhaled all the pygmy fur and start sneezing. Eyeing the end of the corridor, Skylar puts on her gloves and opens the plastic bag. Time to get to work.
Skylar first begins at the other end of the corridor, planning on cleaning the whole hall and reaching the other side. She crouches down low to the ground, picking up the fur the covers the stones beneath her feet. Pink, purple, pink, purple. Skylar's eyes go crossed as she continues to pick up more and more fluff. The bright colors are starting to sting her eyes now. As cute as the pygmy puffs are, their fur is bloody hard to clean. Skylar makes a mental note to herself: do not get a pygmy puff as a pet. Not that other animals will not shed fur, but at least it is not as noticeable as the bright pink and purple fluff.
Despite wearing a mask, Skylar still sneezes a few times from the tickling in her nose. She slowly makes her way down the hall, picking up more fluff and putting it in the plastic bag. Skylar is only a third of the way done, and her bag is already full. She sighs to herself as she closes the overstuffed bag, making sure that no fluff falls out. Thanking her mental foresight to bring extra bags, Skylar pulls out a second one and begins cleaning again.
Slow but steady, she makes her way past the halfway point. Her back was sore and her neck hurt from crouching down so long. Her knees crack in protest as she rises to stretch her body, making her feel like she was in her mid-fifties already. Almost done, Skylar thinks to herself. Closing her second full bag, Skylar pulls out yet a third one to be filled with pygmy puff fluff.
Alas, the stone floors of the corridors are finally visible. Skylar groans with exhaustion as she rises from the ground, closing her third and final bag of pygmy fur. Her stomach growls in hunger from the exertion, and back protests from the movement. God she was hungry. Suddenly the pygmy puff fluff looks extremely edible, like cotton candy. What the bloody hell, Skylar? She questions her out-of-pocket thought. Yeah, she was definitely hungry.
Packing up the three bags of forbidden cotton candy, Skylar pushes open the corridor doors. From the looks of it, she spent at least a good three hours cleaning the darn place. Turning to give the now clean corridor one last look, Skylar sighs and makes her way outside. She was going to dump the bags of fluff and make a beeline to the Great Hall for dinner. All this cleaning made her hungry for some actual food.
