Dear mom and dad, how are you? I hope you're doing well. I hope mom not lonely without me at home. I didn't promise I'll write a letter as soon as I get to Hogwarts, but I heard other students talking about "sending a letter to my parents." and i thought i would give it a try.

I don't know what to write, but some of my friend are urging me to tell you which house I'm in (apparently that's what they wrote and told their parents). I'm sorted into Slytherin, like dad. I was so nervous during the sorting ceremony, it felt like my fate was determined by the roll of a dice.

If I had known I sould have told you guys sooner, I would have written the letter on the night of September 1st and sent it out the next morning, but I only found out this morning. Honestly, I don't know what else to write and it's getting late, I have to deliver this letter as soon as possible.

With love as fresh as orange juice,
Corra

To my Dear Corra,
I hope this letter reaches its destination safely. Thank you for letting us know which house you're in, we'd love to hear it. As you know, your aunt was sorted into Ravenclaw while your uncle was sorted into Hufflepuff. Your father was the only one sorted into Slytherin so things were a bit awkward when your aunt and uncle heard this news. but don't worry, we still love you in whatever house you are sorted. Anyway, my parents are happy that you finally got into Hogwarts, and so are Edward's parents.

I don't blame you for not sending the letter sooner. I forgot to tell you to send the letter in the first place, silly me. But I'm glad there's a friend who's willing to tell you to write a letter, As I said, make as many friends as possible. In the future, you don't have to write letters to us so often, we don't mind if you send a letter only once a month.

Oh, I purposely sent this letter on the weekend to wait for your father to read your letter (I originally planned to have him write a few words for you). Your father cried when he read your letter and locked himself in his room without wanting to talk to me. Maybe he was emotional because he found out that his daughter was in Slytherin just like him, either he was happy that his daughter was the same as him or sad because Slytherin students were known to be naughty and cheating, I think he just wants you to be safe and sound.

With love warm as a hug,
Grace
