Peaceful huntings
Sabrina wasn't of those that had much time to spare. This fact was, as it often is, made by choice, a direct result of her habits and way of life. See, despite rarely sticking to them, the small witch adored making elaborate plans. Getting herself familiar with the rules and limits, sorting and rearraging information until achieving the satisfaction that came with everything clicking into place. Scheduling her day was just a smaller dose of same sort. And with doing so came an overwhelming awarness of the limited time she had and, being an ambitious raven equipped with childlike excitement and eagerness for all she wanted to do, she made sure to utilized every second of it.
Today's program included a strange passtime provoked by an unexpected errand and a letter she recieved yesterday. Upon reading of the fluff-pocalypse in their weekly owl exchange, her fashion enthusiast of a cousin urged Sabrina to get as many of these, to quote, 'scattered glittering goods' as possible, so she could then make a yarn and subsequently a sweater out of them. Eager to please her older cousin and role model, and without any urgent needs to tend to for the day, the teenager had no problem sending her pet owl off with a letter bearing promises of pounds of fluff. When leaving the last classroom she had to visit that day - armed with a roll of blue plastic bin bags, ready to hunt for traces of puffy magical pets - she had no doubt her promise would be fulfilled, but now, about an hour later and with one, half empty bag, her sureness began to dwindle.
'Come out, come out wherever you are,' she mumbled, eyes darting around the mostly vacant space. It wasn't clear if she was addressing the little creatures themselves or just what remained in their wake. Either way, her spoken wishes remained ungranted as she turned yet another corridor. Maybe she should've searched through more carpeted areas. With that thought, she rolled her eyes and prepared to turn on her heel when she heared a sound. Whatever noise and of whatever origin, she knew it wouldn't help her on her quest - afterall, shed winter coats tend to lay quietly - and yet she swiveled towards it.
'Hello? Anybody there?'
Her answer came in form of a repetition of the same sound, now clearly coming out of a nearby armour. Approaching it, head tilted, Sabrina's gaze slipped from it's head to its toes, catching on a bright contrast to the gray metal.
A particulary big bundle of sparkling fur laid traped under it's boot. 'How did you get here, little fellow?' the witch reached for the lifeless thing, puzzled, but no less happy to see it. In an unexpected turn of events, the bundle refused to be picked up, pulling away from her fingers at the first instance of contact, causing the armour to let out a familiar rattle. Shocked, the girl drew her hand away with a squeak, eyes blinking as if trying to replay what they've just seen. That must've been the wind or an ilusion caused by the imperfection of sight, her mind began, but halted with another rattle. The pink form, perhaps sensing her rationalisations, moved once more, this time revealing its stubby snout and beady black eyes.
'Oh, you are alive' the girl cheered, startling the small animal that tried to tug its coat from under the defensive gear, 'I am Sabrina, Sabrina- actually, nevermind. Here, let me help you,' she shortened her usual introduction, crouching down, rather putting her hands to use. One palm securing the hollow knight's ankle, her other digged under its toes, tilting them up. The metal screeched, the girl grunted and the pet scurried away. 'Oi, come back!' Sabrina called, but didn't make an attempt to chase after it. It most likely was a lost pet now finding it's way back to their loving home, clearly not seeking companionship on this journey. With a huff, she stood up again, 'At least you could've shed a few tufs' she mumbled, continuing on with her search.wc. 682/600
