Study Room Squabble
Kennedy took a seat in the study room and looked around. There were only a couple other people there today, all quietly scribbling away. She pulled out her parchment and quill, along with her charms notes. She had about 3 foot of charms homework due at the end of the week, and she was anxious to get ahead and finish it. She looked over the notes she had taken in class and re read a couple key passages, fidgeting her quill in her hand while doing so. She started to write eagerly, getting about four inches before she scrapped the entire thing. As an overachiever and perfectionist she was very judgmental of her own work, and restarted, working again with earnest. 45 minutes later, and 5 scraped essay starts, she set her quill down with a sigh. Maybe if she just took a small break, then when she started again maybe she would be able to do work that she approved of. She glanced around the room to find a few more people had entered since she had last looked around, all of them focused on whatever they were working on. A boy her age sat at the table next to hers, and he seemed to be working hard. The book on his desk told her that he had at some point also working on something for charms. Kennedy felt a bit embarrassed, if he was doing well, why wasn't she. Before she could look away to analyze what other people in the room were doing, the boy caught her staring.March 30th 2026 | Kennedy Cheek | @Nick Jameson | Study Room | WC:262

Study Room Squabble

Nick had gone to the study room to finish a 3 foot charms homework and had sat down at a desk in the study room to finish of the final 1 foot he sat he noticed that he was the only person there. Soon he was absorbed into his work and after a while he noticed that he was 10 feet over the requested amount he stopped at the end of his 13th foot. And started to read more of his charms book and got out his potions book to start that homework. After 2 hours he looked up and saw that the room was almost full he then noticed someone was looking at him now he thought about it was more like staring. He said
Can you please stop looking at me
He paused whilst he saw her charms book and parchment.
Do you need help with that homework? It’s alright if you do.
He studied the person and noticed that they had long clean hair which was brown. He then noticed that they were a Hufflepuff 1st year and he realised that he recognised her as Kennedy Cheek who he vaguely recognised from his classes.
Your Kennedy Cheek right well I’m Nick, Nick Jameson
He put out his hand to shake hers.

“Can you please stop looking at me?”
Kennedy turned beet red, and she quickly looked back down at her work to disguise the flush. Embarrassed, she continued on with her work, crumpling the piece of paper she had been working on and starting anew. The boy appeared to take notice
"Do you need help with your homework? It's alright if you do." He said.
Kennedy wanted to scoff. She didn't need help, she was only having a small case of writers block, or at least that's what she told herself. Maybe on a normal occasion, she would have accepted help, but her troubles with homework were already wounding her pride.
"No, I do not." She said, putting on her best polite smile. The boy seemed like the arrogant type, as if he was better than her, and Kennedy was not a fan. However, since he hadn't done anything rude yet, Kennedy though it was only fair to be respectful. She looked back down and went to start on what felt like the hundredth draft of the charms paper, but the boy kept talking.
"Your Kennedy Cheek right well I'm Nick, Nick Jameson."
He stuck out his hand to her, and Kennedy shook it not wanting to be rude. It shouldn't have surprised her that he knew her name, after all they had been classmates for nearly the entire year. But only added to her annoyance, who was he to act like he knew who she was. She calmed herself before speaking.
"So I supposed you already know me, but I can't say I'm very good with names -uh Nick. What would you happen to be working on."
She attempted to engage in polite conversation, unwilling to embarrass herself by starting her charms essay over, again. However it came out slightly awkward, as most of her conversations do, and she held her breath as she waited for his response.

e
@Kennedy Cheek sorry for the long wait
Banner by @Hazel Nelson/@Bree GrayWhen he asked her to stop looking at him he noticed she turned red. Very red. When she replied saying she didn’t need help Nick replied rolling his eyes at the crumpled and scrapped peace’s of parchment he commented.Nick, Thoughts, subtle sarcasm, heavy sarcasm
Yeah it is really obvious you don’t need help everyone as scrapped essay starts and currently having nothing on your parchment you totally don’t need help and your being extremely productive
When she asked him what he happened to be doing he responded with
going over charms essay’s by 10 feet and finishing potions essays why do you need help I’m am really shocked and surprised I thought you said you didn’t need any help where you lying to me I’m shocked
Nick smirked before and said
Now if I’m right and your lying why should I help you as you obviously need help seriously if your going to lie at least not make it obvious learn better for next time you lie about not needing help
He sighed at her incompetence before saying well if you really don’t need me might as well just go back to my seat maybe do some more homework or even just go back to my common room

Kennedy had never been the best in social situations, and sarcasm had always been something she didn’t understand. So as Nick talked, Kennedy couldn’t tell if he was being serious or not. Instead of potentially responding in the wrong way, she stay mostly silent as he talked. But the more he went on, Kennedy became sure he was being sarcastic. She was honestly offended, she was sure she had been nothing but nice, but his tone was down right off putting.
“I don’t know who you think you are but even if I did need help I wouldn’t ask you, not if your ego is going to get in the way of you doing anything actually thoughtful!”
Kennedy’s eyes widened, she didn’t know what had come over her, she wasn’t ever one for confrontation.
“Oh my I am so sorry,” But then she paused and thought for a moment. It was true, in the few minutes she had known him he had been nothing but a seemingly stuck up.
“Actually I’m only partially sorry. I’m not sorry for calling you out, but I am sorry that I did it in such a rude manner. What makes you think you can talk to a person like that?”
Kennedy tried her best to look brave, but on the inside she was trembling. She couldn’t believe she had just said that to someone.
