Just a week before Ava could board the Hogwarts Express, her parents decided to make give her, her Easter present. It was time for their little baby to get a companion for her journey. They made their way to Diagon Alley in London, a bunch of enchanted cages hanging behind the large window. "Can I get any type of pets?" Ava exclaimed, having a bit of bounce in her jump. The painted sign above the door has lots of different silhouettes of animals. As soon as she entered, her eyes fell on all the cages in the shop. Some big, some small, every creature excited her. "Can I have an owl? Oh no, wait, a kneazle? No.." She said indecisive but nevertheless excited, her parents walking calmly behind her, happy to see their little girl's excitement.

"Mum, look! There's a Snake! Can I get one?!" Ava asked looking expectantly at her mum, which she disapproved of. "Aww," she sighed, but moved on to another section of much less exotic pets. "A Rabbit! Oh.. Mum, what's that?" She asked pointing at a creature that looked like a dog but with two tails, which her Mum informed her was a 'Wexford Half-Crup.' The Ravenclaw, wanted to get every type of pet, but her parents' clear warning of only one stopped her. She kept looking around, when her eyes stopped at something, or more particularly at someone, outside the window. A lone black cat, staring at the shop, something inside the girl stirred looking at the cat.

She went outside, slowly approaching the cat. The creature too, noticed her, but rather than being alert or running away, he didn't move, he waited for her to approach her. Ava, slowly and cautiously, went on her tiptoes, as if even a little sound might scare him away. But he didn't move one bit, and Ava crouched down to his level. She wanted to pet him, but then thought against it. "Hey, kitty... Are you lost?" She said, as if he could understand her. He, obviously, didn't reply. He just stared at her. And finally, with enough reassurances that he wouldn't run away, she touched his fur, it was surprisingly soft for a stray. "I think I know who to get..." she murmured to herself.

Her parents noticing her absence, came to find her, seeing her outside petting a cat, they too knew, she had found a companion for her journey. Ava, on the other hand, decided to get him, but has he decided to be with her? Ava asked him, "Do you wanna come to Hogwarts with me?" And just like before, Ava didn't expect him to understand, but as if he did, he licked her other hand that was on her knees. "Is that a yes?!" Ava, excited at the reaction. She tried picking him up, but the cat wasn't that comfortable yet, but he for sure wasn't running away either.
